Horses are so BIG that they kind of scare me though as a girl I wanted one. I wanted one real bad! A few years ago I had an horse accident that resulted in a damned concussion. I need to get back on one.

Oh, I can identify with that one. I was thrown from a horse on my father's farm when I was very small and still recall the feel of the needle stitching my head up once they finally got me to civilisation for treatment. I never blamed the horse and actually wanted to go back there as it was a favourite place of mine, but my mother would not allow it and so I developed a fear of ever getting on one again....I do intend doing something about it though if I get the chance to as I absolutely love them. As for cats, think everyone knows I am addicted to their sweetness. :cathappy: Ours spent the day in hiding as we had 2 doggie visitors...as soon as our guests were out the door, 2 furry faces made their way down the stairs to inspect their territory and have sniffed and examined every inch repeatedly until they were satisfied, then went into full on play mode of chasing each other up and down stairs and around the dining room table and over chairs. Such cuties. :catroar:

LOL! I know what you mean!

In my case I was at camp with my little girl. My best friend at the time was in charge of the horses there and had extensive first aid training. I trusted her.

I told her it had been sometime since I was even on a horse. I explained I didn't feel the least bit knowledgeable about this and I needed a slow docile horse. My little girl was ridding with me.

Her little girl was riding with her. In addition we had a nurse with us.

Okay so my baby girl was always about to slide off the horse. I spent a lot of time repositioning her. When the horse spotted water he broke into a gallop.
BIG problem there.

My girl was coming off that horse and I couldn't stop it because so was I.

I basically made a ball of my body around my girl, she was about six or so. She didn't get hurt at all. Mission accomplished. I was wearing a helmet thank heavens, we all were.

So picture this, I get up and notice my back is hurting like a bitch. They start asking me questions and I fall down.

That just kept happening, being conscious, and unconscious for hours. They did nothing except get me to a house to lay down and put my girl back on the horse.

Eventually they drove me home. No medical care at all. My mom was at home soon to help or something. I can't remember why. She's not very helpful. *shakes head.* Anyway I took a shower and my back just hurt worse. So I went to my approved provider because it was a Friday.

He asked me if I had hit my head. I said no. He said then why do you think you kept losing consciousness? Doh!

He was pretty pissed off I drove myself to his office.

Anyway, I had a concussion. He wanted a cat scan. I said I needed to get home to see my girl off on her visit so she'd know Mommy was fine before she went.

We made a Saturday appoint for the cat scan.

My friend/babysitter/go between showed up at my house to hand my girl off to the evil ex so he couldn't pick a fight with me in front of the kids. My Mom left.

My bud did her job, then climbed in bed with me until my husband got off work.

He was majorly pissed! He asked me questions about the stirrups and such that infuriated him even more because none of that had been done correctly for me so I could be safer. He is still angry about all that to this day.

But hey, I survived. My girl loves horses. My best friend now owns several. It's all good.

Now the cats have been fighting over me while I exercised today! They are too cute, the little jealous beasts!
