got a set up, but not sure where it goes:
For a couple of years, our hero enjoyed looking out his front window early each morning & watching the pony-tailed papergirl walk by. With "pay in office" billing, he never spoke to her or knew her name, but her innocent precocious bounciness just revived his faith in life.
Then inevitably, she outgrew paper delivery and gave the route to her younger brother. Our hero still looked out his window as he drank his morning coffee, but his mood was never quite the same.
Well, this summer, brother turned 16 & got a summer job. Since his sister, now 18, had no summer job, the parents insisted that the gal cover the route for the summer so brother could resume in the fall.
Our hero is pleasantly surprised one morning to see her pony tail flouncing past his window...
