All right all, I just needed you guys, I have a debate on Euthanasia coming up, and a poll is needed. So, what better than to use you guys. I have used some of the polls on here before, and the professor asked me what kind of whackos answered the poll. I laughed. I laughed some more. Well, time for another whacko poll.

I needed age groups too, so bear with me on the long poll. I would appreciate this more than you will know.

Sigh, I must debate that Euthanasia is wrong, regardless of my opinion. So here we go folks,

To help those of you, Euthanasia is assisted suicide, and this is NOT counting pulling the plug. we are talking Dr. Kavorkian here. Pulling the Plug is NOT euthanasia. So, lets get this crackin...

Once again, thank you...Any other comments are welcome

I didn't vote. Since one can only vote once, and there are so many choices.

I think that an adult, making an informed decision has the right to do what they wish. I also think suicide is cowardly. Take from that what you will.

However... suicide is illegal in most states. Murder is illegal everywhere. Doctors take an oath that they will do no harm. When all those lil contradictions get worked out, let me know.

btw. WriterDom posted a thread re: Euthanasia that I believe is on page 2.

i'm not going to vote, but i will say that I'd need to know the sercomstanses before i could say yes it's right or wrong

cause every cercomstance can be different. same goes with abortion. I can't answer that eather.

It's just too hard to come up with a 100% answer on the subject

you will have a hard time witht his debate but... good luck

It is a human being's right to die with dignity. If a horse has a broken leg, we shoot them if they are not treatable. If any animal has some disease that cannot be cured, we put them out of their misery. Why is it so hard to fathom that humans have a right to end their pain and suffering?

I have been very close to people that have died of cancer and watched the torment day after day. Pain so intense that the medications no longer worked. What was the point of these people going through this?

I had a close friend with Lou Gherig's diesease. Her body failed her but her mind was sharp until the end. She was such a beautiful, independent woman and towards the end she had to be fed and cleaned by her family. She did not want this. Her husband and children watched daily as she lost more and more ability to function and she KNEW what was happening because this disease does not affect the mind. She wanted out and I could not help her. She, and others like her, should have a right to say, "I do not want to die like this. I want to die with dignity."

Precisely. That's why I said adults making informed decisions.

We make those decisions for our animals, and often times, they're made based on the economics of treatment, not the prognosis. That is where most of my fear comes from. My aunt tried to talk my grandfather out of lung surgery that saved his life. Why? "Because he's old and has outlived his usefulness". Which is absolute bullshit.

I just want to be sure the person who is dying is making their own decision.

I have spiritual issues with this as well. But I don't think that spirituality/morality should figure heavily into legal matters.

I believe whole-heartedly in it. When or if I am dying painfully of a horrible disease, then let me die a quick death. I dont believe in it as a way to commit suicide from depression or any other non-life threatening conditions. But I do support it.

My opinion of course......
