I love to feel that I've contributed to some important statistic, especially if it ends up getting publicized in USA Today or some other reputable news provider. I also tend to lie.

My favorite thing about online polls is the "I Don't Know" response when the question is clearly and totally subjective. Why would you participate in a completely voluntary online poll about a subject in which you have no interest? And isn't the whole point that you don't know, that no one knows, that's why someone is conducting a poll?

That's all. Thanks for participating.

p.s. I've made the poll multiple choice because I don't want to exclude multiple personalities.

p.p.s. I didn't know it would put "poll" in the front of my poll subject automatically. Poll: Did you know?

Yes and No

Depends on the question.

Polls seem to have questions that do not cover all the possible answers or are leading or are too simplistic.

When did you stop beating your wife?

Is George W Bush? Answer Yes or No.

Should we invade France to replace the French President who is a criminal who can't be prosecuted because he is the Head of State? If Yes remember he has nuclear missile submarines. If No should we invade Iceland instead because they do not have weapons of mass destruction except wet fish.

Og.

I like polls. But I only answer them if they are about something that interests me. This poll interested me, otherwise I wouldn't have answered it.

And yes, I did know that.

Thank you, svenska. I tried to design the poll to appeal to a broad cross-section of authors and readers alike. (And I'm not saying you're a broad, no matter how funny that might seem to other people, and by "other people" I mean people with terrible senses of humor.)

Ogg, your point is a good one. Now I feel that I should have "led" the voter more with the question and the answers. But I'm still learning. (p.s. Is Iceland also Norway, or perhaps Sweden?)

Pops, I appreciate your honesty. Most people wouldn't want to admit they didn't know why they didn't know whether they enjoy participating in polls, and I've often suspected that fear of ridicule by other anonymous voters might skew the results of even the most brilliantly designed poll.

Thanks to all who participated. Pudding will be emailed to everyone within the next few weeks.

Iceland is an independent country - now. Their President re-married this week but the new First Lady still keeps her own name as do most Icelandic women.

Og.

I'm not sure. Maybe. Possibly. Occasionally.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Go for Iceland. Their fish may be wet, but ours is fermented. Local delicacy. Smells like dirrhoaeha.

(I'll never learn how to spell that word.):(
