when I think of a playground on an erotic message board, i don't necessarily think of what numbers or letters mix to make whatever....

why your at it delete my thread "foods from a to z". I'm sure they've run out of food by now.

I'm just sorry my threads clog up the 'stimulating ones'. :(

you are not clogging things up. i am voting for a separate gaming board cuz i think it'd be fun. honestly, i hope you decide to keep up the good work. you clearly make this a fun place with your gaming threads and you take the time to make them quality. and fun!

I'm thinking that by making a sub-group we then have to swtich groups to see the new games. I rather like having them in one group with the rest of the threads. It makes my searching easier.

I must admit that I find a lot of the games pointless... but I just don't enter them.

As the starter of a few game threads... that I personally think have had 'stimulating conversation' in them... I think the poster has midded the fact it's the PLAY ground....

Take the games out and leave just the sex things in and it's just another version of the ampics forum crossed with the GB....

meh...

I enjoy the games. I don't play in them as often as I used to, but I'm not asking them to be killed off or anything super drastic :)

In fact, if they were all in one place I might play them more often as I wouldn't have to fill my subscription with dozens of games.

Bear your games are quite interesting and I have no doubt if they were moved to the GB they would flourish. :)

If you are set on creating the sub-group ... at least make it a sub-group of the Playground. I *really* try to avoid the GB (assuming you mean the General Board). I can't say I've never posted in the GB but ... if I have, it's been accidental & only b/c I didn't realize it was the GB.

It was meant as a compliment on Bear's threads.

Even on the General Board they would flourish :)

And, if a sub forum is not a possibility then there is no better place for the game threads than the playground.

I was just hoping to gauge the communities thoughts on asking for a sub forum before actually asking for one.

I agree......Keep the games in the Playground......I wouldn't have voted to have a sub-group if I had known the idea was to move the games to the GB.....

yeah the GB is probably not the best place for it - with the freak show goin on over there, they'd probably find some way to destroy the games for those who enjoy it :p

The poll is exactly for that.

Yes or no on moving the game threads to a sub forum. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I was trying to be nice and tell Bear I thought his threads were good.

Sorry for the confusion.

I am NOT in favor of moving the game thread to another current board, but for creating a seperate forum for them.

Thank you for explaining it to me Spin.........I didn't think that was the plan.....then I became confused when I read another post......

And yes, Bear's games are good and unique....

No worries. Sometimes things that make sense to me don't translate well to others :D

Hmmm...I don't know I am kinda torn on the idea.

I mean sometimes the threads like the alphabet ones can clog up the board but it depends on what you consider a "Game".

If you moved the name 5 thread and others like that,it might be kinda boring on here.

An besides it might be kinda tireing to jump back and forth between to forums to play games while trying to hold conversations in threads on the playground.

i'm cool with a game forum as long as they don't move it to the GB board.. I refused to go on that side of the lit forum.
Spins.. way to take the ball and see where people stand on this issue. :)

Something tells me that would be the last place where it would be positioned.. fun and games are frowned upon there...

I don't even think anyone there has any balls to play with... not that I've seen anyways.

I think this is well said, it's what I've been trying to put into words. Where would you draw the line, that would be my question. To me, the playground is for play. I am a proud playgrounder, and I only ever made it over to one other area for ONE thread, and it was just recently moved to the PG by popular demand, and that was a happy day. To me the playground is for fun, silliness, friendship, discussions, and overall acceptance. That is why I love it so much. I understand the idea behind the suggestion, I know that some of the games do get a bit cumbersome, but I also think that it depends on what you consider a "game". Many of the threads started have a game feel to it, even if some wouldn't call it that. Like the above mentioned Name 5, or even my DLS thread. I know it is technically a thread topic, but it's not a discussion topic, it is a direction, or a goal. There are TONS of threads like that, many which start very interesting and stimulating conversations. I just wonder who would be burdened with the task of determining whether it is a game or not, and what they would use to judge it by. If their only measuring stick is whether it is a crap space filler or not, then who in the world would feel good about their thread being put there?

I truly do understand the suggestion for a sub-forum, and it is actually an interesting idea, but I think what has so many people torn or defensive is the way the idea is presented. Perhaps if it had simply been stated in the beginning that a game forum would be great to make it easier for all the gamers, maybe even I would be jumping on that idea, i don't know. But to be presented the idea as a way to weed out unwanted clutter (I know I'm generalizing, sorry) tends to raise my defenses a bit, too. What's one person's clutter is another person's treasure, who would be the judge? Personally, I love that clutter. I may not partake in even a fraction of them, but to me they represent the freedom and fun of the playground. I meant this with no disrespect or hostility, I know everyone has a right to their own opinion, I'm just trying to put in my own thoughts.

Don't you bounce between threads now when you are playing games and having conversations?

Before there was ever a Playground, all the games and fun threads were mixed in with the Personals. The Playground was made to make it more fun for everyone and easier to find personals if that's what was being looked for.
Now the Playground is full of neverending threads that tend to overwhelm folks and scares them away. Go for It!! I think a sub thread is needed.

One of the reasons I started the poll and asked for opinions was because I wanted people to think about the subject.

We have a new mod. We have threads from other boards being put into the playground. there have been several threads the last two weeks asking why people leave, can't get into the playground, and how one should go about posting at all.

I thought it would be a good time to gauge the opinion of the people who post in the playground.

Why any one feels the need to to defend themselves is beyond me. I'm not attacking anything. I'm not out to get anyone specific. I'm not making any demeaning remarks about people who start games or play in them.

If anyone cares to go through all my posts you will see I played in lots of game threads when I started out :) I enjoy them and I find it interesting to see what other people come up with.

That several people have taken this so personally is surprising and not what I meant to happen at all. I suppose people are protective over what they feel is thiers and don't like anyone questioning the worth of something they feel ownership over.

It was truly not my goal and whatever offense I have caused I appologize.

I genuinely believe having a seperate game forum would be benificial. Threads like the DLS thread would have much more of a chance to shine in the playground if it wasn't pushed off the first two pages in less than 10 minutes because someone decided to play every single Letter game and word game.

As for who would be judge? The mods. They are always the judge. It may not be the perfect system, but that is the nature of the beast.

Again, I'd like to appologize for any offense. truly it was not my intention to hurt any feelings. I was just curious. You have no need to feel the need to defend yourself to me. I respect the right to differing opinions and i'm not going to go scorched earth if my suggestion isn't recieved well or implemented. :)

I understand the need for a *game forum* on it's on........in my humble opinion anyway :rose:

I usually have multiple windows open anyway. This would just mean that I would have a window open to the game thread area - and whichever other area I was reading.
But - I'm just that way - not everyone is. I can't stay focused on just one page.

But many of those long threads have nothing to do with 'games', so I don't understand your point there...
