Hasn't anybody figured out yet that it's *all* bullshit? Every last sentence of it? Why argue over bullshit? Whether you're right or your wrong it's still bullshit.

*shakes head*

Not grumpy... It just makes me sad, that's all. So many *better* things that can be done with our time, you know?

Hmm... :D If I pout more, will you kiss me more? ;)

If anybody had to deal with the truth, you think it would kill them.

But I guess you have to look at it this way - if there was no bullshit, there would be no fast food... ... Okay, that was disturbingly honest! :D

P.S. My father was involved in Politics most of his life, he even ran for Goverment. So I know what goes on behind those walls. There is not as much bull shit as you think, you just have to have all the details of the story... what you read in the Newspapers and on TV is only what the media want you to see.

At least the people out there in among it all that are trying to do the best for their country and not just complaining about not getting their share of it all. There will always be jerks in every job in the world...... just be thankfull that some people are willing to put up with the shit and help their country to the best of their ability.

Yes there are a lot of distractions from what really matters. That is why it requires a great deal of patience and a critical eye, in order to weed through it all.

Aruging about it, yes, usually is futile. However, much good can come of people softening one another on certain matters, but usually, the sterness of ones own convictions out of a lack of humility, right or wrong, is enough to make it all a worthless, futile effort. I will never be a part of that sort of fruitless, unavailing activity.

Blackbird, the way I see it is as long as "sheep" continue to be in the majority.... Politics and the assorted bullshit that goes along with it will thrive.. ya know? Haven't been very many notable shepherds to come along and move humanity in a positive direction in a few hundred years...
So, what's the answer? Find an Island and run away?
But I am with you.. it is all bullshit...

Your ignorance is appalling!

Coming out against Democrat/Republican arguments or what can be at times circular logic in regards to election cycles is one thing. I'd be expanding on your thoughts.

Your blanket statement here though is ludicrous and trying to respond seriously is a challenge.

Obviously, you do not know what politics is, this much is obvious. Politics can be a simple figure head to you but dont pretend you know what you are talking about. The issues that encompass debate, politically, morally, socially, etc... are important. If you think you are not affected by such then dont bother to read any further, there will be no reason to do so.

The world is a messy place, anyone who ventures out ends up stepping in something. Some of us like to think and analyze and actually, in the end, care to make life better. Some of us cannot give in to denial like you have done, either out of fear or being too weak to undertake the thoughts.

Im assuming you're applying your award-winning post to all that goes on here at Lit. How observant of you!

Not everyone gets involved in the poltical, moral, and intellecutal discussions here, in fact it tends towards only a few people. Many of us have diametrically oppossed viewpoints. In some cases an issue is spat out and little comes of it, in other cases the discussion allows a fleshing out of a difficult and complex topic. I respect those that venture into such an endeavour, those on a different side and with a differentPOV as well as those whom I may agree with.

Intelligent people ask questions. Inelligent people wonder about themselves and others. Intelligent people change their minds every day.

Perhaps you are so ignorant you honestly believe issues have no relation to you and your life. If so, I urge you to relinquish your citizenship, as it comes with some responsibilities that are not separate from the rights we are all granted.

You need to wake up. Hopefully you will have the chance to do so, the opportunity, some never do. Some remain unaware. Some choose to be in the dark. Some choose otherwise.

I agree. I have observed that most of the people who do the complaining don't even take the time to vote and then they bitch about the situation. The only way we effect change is to take part in the change. If you aren't part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.

Oy.. Why is it that everyone just assumes that because we argue politics online, that we obviously do Nothing to try and help forward our own beliefs?

Hell, half the reason why I Do argue politics on here is because I'm trying to turn other people to my way of thinking, or at least make them understand it better. And at the same time, I learn from them and better understand Their viewpoint.

Politics isn't just a bunch of fat guys sitting in a big white building anymore than religion is a bunch of guys with funny hats in Rome. It's a personal thing, it's what you believe in, what you stand for. Don't you have an opinion on abortion? On cloning? On freedom of religion, of the press, of speech itself? On political correctness? On the economy? On public transportation? On marijuana legislation? On hate crimes? Don't you care where your tax money goes?

All of this and about a million other things are embraced by politics. We aren't arguing(well, usually anyway) whether Al Gore would've made a better president then Bush, on whether Tom Daschle is right about everything he says.. We're arguing our own personal viewpoints on the state of the union and the world, and all the affairs contained within. I voted in the last election, I'll vote in the next. When my congressmen do something I disagree with, they get an email, one of which has actually been personally answered before. This is representative government. If you don't have an opinion, if you don't have beliefs, and if you don't do your best to try to bring those beliefs about, you don't have the right to bitch about the state of government in the world...

Of course, that's just my opinion.

Cecelia,

I'm so sorry. I must embrace this passive-agressive stance I have been hearing so much about. All the cool kids are doing it.

I'm upfront. You know where I stand. I prefer it that way, it saves on bullshit.

Ever read the Tao Te Ching? :)

I vote... unlike my parents. I also look at what is presented to me as the truth and try to figure out where I stand... I just don't think it's desireable to fill one's head with this quagmire of crap coming from the government (any government) on a daily basis. You begin to lose faith in humanity after a while of listening to that shit, you know?

Let me know when you have the guts to stand behind what you say. I am often surprised at my own expectations, I wish I could lower them.

Three hundred and sixty four words.
One thousand, seven hundred, and fifteen characters... all just to say "I disagree with you black bird. I don't think you have all the facts."

Now *that* is saving on bullshit... You should run for office! :)

And all your cleverness to avoid the discussion.

You are weak.

Is that better?

Okay - the long version.

I don't think we need to make life any more complicated then what it is already. Politics, or at least a great deal of it, does exactly that. Stead fast beliefs only lead to the stagnation of the soul... I've felt it happen to myself, I've seen it happen to others, and yet political debate encourages this type of thinking. It is unhealthy.

My reference to the Tao Te Ching was acutually a reference to how a country should be governed... by common sense. There would be no need for debate it this was the rule. It isn't. Niether the Republicans nor the Democrates - niether the left nor the right can claim a monopoly on common sense, as they are both embarressingly deficient.

[edit]I give my opinion on a subject and you respond with attacks on my intellegence. This is *not* polite discourse; quite to the contrary, it is immature. Why should I give you straight answers when the only support you can give to your beliefs is the assumption that I am not learned? Why should I give you a straight answer when you haven't given me one?[/edit]

Hows that for guts?
