Politics and the US Economy

Bush led us to WASTE over a trillion dollars in his quest for WMDs in Iraq. Obama is stimulating the economy. Why can't you see that?

where? why did the CEO of GE bash obama?

hum....if the economy was going well, shouldn't the CEO of GE still be an obama supporter?

I really wish that I had blinders on like you :)

maybe we need to spend less time blaming bush...and move forward. spend less energy thinking about bush (and i'm sure in your case you do think about bush alot :) ) and focus on today and tomorrow....not last year

You sound like a fucking parrot. Act like one too, eat, shit, and squawk.

Bush isn't the president, Obama is. Bush is not responsible for the trebling of the debt, Obama is. Bush is not responsible for the total lack of confidence of the business sector with the government, Obama is. Deal with it.

Ishmael

Jen, um.................................... It was you who just brought Bush into the discussion.

But it's somehow my fault for bringing up Bush and I'm faulted for it?

You can't even remember posts you made 5 mins ago, can you? You're a mess.

But when you have no real ideas…the only thing left to do is blame Bush

Listen...

It was Jen who brought up a comparison of Bush waste versus Obama waste.

Fucking click back one page and look for yourself.

Because nothing Bush and the Republicans did for the past 8 years had any impact on the present?

Huh?

And fucking seriously, do you see me going around lit blaming Bush? No, you don't. I'm a very present-focused person and I find it extremely unhelpful to blame the unchangeable past. Just as unhelpful as when the Republicans blamed Clinton for anything and everything.

The only reason I even made one Bush post here is because Jen decided we needed to include Bush's actions as part of this discussion. Capish?

Maybe we can sit by a campfire singing obama is great while smoking crack?

Jen, the beauty of your moronic way of thinking, where presidents have no impact on the future - is that once Obama is out of office everything will be back to normal with no long-term damage.

After all if a Republican gets into office in 2012 and the country is a mess, you surely will not blame Obama, right?

You realize that massive government works projects and record spending were largely what got us out of the great depression, right?

I believe that most of the policies of FDR contributed to extending the depression and that if he'd just gotten out of the way and let the market adjust, we'd have been out of the depression much more quickly.

So the Great Depression wasn't long enough? If we just gave it more time it would have been better?

and the alt comes out:cool:

I stated my peace. Clearly you misunderstand. Please move on.

No, I see what you mean. You're hypothesizing that the public works projects were the long way out.

Fine.

But in your alternate reality we come out of the Great Depression as a nation without highways, mostly wooden bridges, dirt roads, and far less industrial infrastructure. Not to mention your hypothesis could be wrong.

We've had public works projects before and will have them in the future. Another liberal debate process...if someone argues with you, take the discussion into an absurd direction. (second behind shoot the messenger).

Doesn't seem absurd. You said we shouldn't have had the public works projects, which are widely credited for being a major factor in ending the great depression.

I'm saying there would have been consequences to that, such as the nation going into WWII with a much smaller industrial infrastructure. It goes back to the classic conservative brain fart: You want small government spending but want the best national infrastructure in the world.

The problem is that we are not taxed enough. Clearly personal income tax should be at 80% for every American, and the evil corporate world must be taxed at 99%...that should teach people in wanting to improve his or her life by building a business and trying to make a better life for their children…what is wrong with people! The only truth is obama, government, and taxes for all!
