MORE ON YOUR GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS AT WORK
Now – see if there is any way you can bring yourself to belief it. Teachers in a group of government schools in California have found a math instruction program that works. The school board won’t allow them to use it.

This is happening in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The board has voted to require all sub-districts to pick one of two state-approved math instruction programs. The Saxon program, the one that works, is not included.

So, why can’t they use the Saxon program? The math instruction method has a proven ability to teach basic math skills and it undoubtedly raises math-testing scores! So, what’s the problem?

Believe it or not, folks. Saxon not PC. It’s not “multicultural” enough.

Excuse me, but just how can basic math be “multicultural?” Does three time four equal different numbers for different cultural groups?

Same thing in two different threads?
Very eager to get the message across I See :)

Doh....i swear i saw the same thing twice....maybe i'm going crazy...weeble weeble weeble...
oh you made a mistake!
So i am 'normal' then!

So what in this Saxon program that makes it unpolitcally correct? Does it ask questions like:

If ten anglo saxons pillage a small community of 50 Incans, and the Incans have 5 spears each, how many spears will the Anglo Saxons have if they kill all the Incans?

cause its not multicutural enough?!?!?!

My question how is math not mulitcultural is not 2+2=4 wheteher it french, english, german, russian etc?

When in Rome...or Paris

In French everything adds up to 69.
