You all are going to go on to having the traditional turkey day.

Hm, I am having Thanksgiving with my Father and his family. I live with my mom, so Thanksgivings with that side are few and vera vera far between.

On the menu:

Fried Cod
Perogies (sorry bout the spelling)

We are Polish mind you. Polish.

and some thing that when you poke it it jiggles. Not sure, I don't eat it.

I just want turkey and lots of GRAVYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

turkey and mashed potatoes and homemade stuffing and corn DRENCHED with homemade turkey gravy.

mmmmm. ;)

cod sounds yummy.. but what the heck is a perogie?

That’s interesting…

A Polish style Thanksgiving..
~smiles~

My sister’s Italian husband always wants what his family back east traditionally prepared..

Lasagna
Pasta Salad
Cold Cuts
Bread
Cheese
Oh..and a lot of red wine.

Every year he suggests this exact menu for my mom to prepare..but she just smiles at him as she continues making her pies while the turkey is happily thawing.

TEASING ME is NOT helping.

EW, cod...I think i am gonna crash the dinner with some turkey and nashed tatoes in hand.

perogies are sauerkraut filled dough.

Ick.

They can be filled with fruit, but that isn't traditional.

EW

and Saturn that menu sounds good anyways.

Goddess

In hand?

Um..
Wouldn’t it be easier if you just brought them in a container?
~grins~

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Polish style..Lava.

Makes me wonder, though.. what other interesting non traditional things people will be eating tomorrow
in lieu of the usual turkey faire.

my ex mother in law insisted on bringing something.. and knowing all to well that she can't cook.. I asked her what she'd like to bring (and I would have something for back up). She emailed me awhile ago. She is bringing Potato salad. I didn't want to hurt her feelings and tell her it was Thanksgiving dinner.. not the Fourth of July picnic

 Potato salad at Thanksgiving?

does anyone else eat it on Thanksgiving?

oops

Sorry Lava.. it wasn't meant as a teaser. If it helps any, I was only reminiscing cuz I ain't getting any either.

Polish turkey day

Hmmmmm maybe they will take off the feathers before baking this time!!!!!!!!

sorry couldn't resist............;)

Chef's idea of having chicken instead of turkey is sounding almost normal compared to some of the stuff you people eat on the holiday! :p

And no, I can't say that I've ever had potato salad on Thanksgiving. LOL

Aiko says: BRING ON THE CODFISH.

Owen says: BRING ON THE NATIVES. *hides gun behind back*

Just kidding.

Sorry about your luck, but maybe there will be some polka fun after dinner, eh?

Potato and cheese perogies, Keilbasa and all the traditional trimmings is what I always make for Thanksgiving. Hubby is Polish so when we got together, he insisted I make those too. I don't mind. But there is something about that Keilbasa cooking..messing up the wonderful fragrance of the turkey. :( I love him, so I do it.

Yeah my gf is polish and russian with some austirain/italian and possibly jewish. Very complicated ethnic make up, but very slavic. They normaly stick to the traditionaly polish thanksgiving.
