POLISH AIRSPACE

Poland's armed forces said a Russian cruise missile launched at the region of Lviv had violated Poland's airspace.

"The object entered Polish space near the town of Oserdow (Lublin Voivodeship) and stayed there for 39 seconds," it said on the social media platform X. "During the entire flight, it was observed by military radar systems."
Poland's army spokesperson, Jacek Goryszewski, told reporters that the missile travelled about 2 km (1.2 miles) into Polish airspace before returning to Ukraine.

brief, and caused no actual damage in Poland... but russia's in dangerous territory with this.
no doubt the incident will be played down as much as possible, since a major NATO incident isn't exactly desirable, but putin has to remember that an attack on any NATO country is an attack on all... another reason why trump's so keen to slip out of NATO, allowing putin to do 'what the hell he wants' figuring he'll be left to 'rule' America if he wins the election. he's not interested in being a king, he sees himself as benevolent emperor and is dumb enough to think putin would allow him to stay in power unless he's doing exactly as putin wants.

I can't see anyone in NATO rushing to jump on this except to issue a warning.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. House of Representatives will have its long-awaited vote on aid for Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific as soon as Saturday, Republican Speaker Mike Johnson said on Wednesday, more than two months after a similar package passed the Senate.

he wants Ukraine aid (as agreed upon in a bipartisan 70% vote in the Senate back in February) to terms making it a loan, but has risked the ire of mtg and co in even bringing it forward at all. Democrats may face the troubling position of providing the aid as 'loans to be repaid' or lose the chance to get the help to Ukraine at all... if mtg and others have their way, the house will devolve once again into a chaotic mess without a speaker and unable to pass any bills.

if the House dems do help pass the bill under the new format, will the Senate accept it or demand it be changed again? ffs.

Johnson supports aid to Ukraine and has rolled out three bills that separately address aide to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.
i'll speak slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly for you:

the opening post was more than a month ago... i have updated with the news about the bill being broken up, the caveats and questioned how that may go down.

paying attention to dates and relevancies beyond the first post in a thread can only help you. no more replies from me to you; this one was a rarity so make the best use of it.

Johnson is scared of Marjorie Trailer Trash. She's showed him her feet.

six months late, meaning hundreds or thousands of unnecessary deaths in the meantime - many of women and children - solely and entirely based on Mike Johnson's failure to bring the bill to the floor as the majority of Republicans wanted. He is also involved in some culty religious setup. It's OK to be a normal Christian but hard right Christianity is a contradiction in terms, since jesus was left or center-left (as far as we know)
