Police killing of Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta ruled a homicide

Authorities in Georgia ruled Sunday that the fatal police shooting of Rayshard Brooks outside an Atlanta Wendy's was a homicide.

Brooks, 27, died after he was shot twice in the back on Friday, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office said in a statement. Brooks was shot after a confrontation with two Atlanta police officers in the parking lot.

Police had been summoned there on a report of a man sleeping in his car in the drive-through.

How about that! I just figured DWI in Georgia justified "summary execution".

Noticed in the video how little regard the murderous cops had for the entire line of civilians in cars nearby. Those two cops are a disgrace to law enforcement.

I wonder if the cops would have been charged with anything had there been no video.

Hell, I'm surprised they were charged with video.

As usual with the Left, the narrative leaves out critical facts.

The guy was given a sobriety test, he failed and was being arrested when he began to resist.

You have EXACTLY ZERO authority to resist arrest.

While resisting arrest, the guy took one of the arresting officer's weapons.

You have EXACTLY ZERO authority to even TOUCH an officer's weapons.

After he grabbed the tazer, he took off running and then turned and FRIED at the officers.

You have EXACTLY ZERO authority to shoot ANYTHING, not even a water pistol, at police while they are trying to arrest you.

The officers responded with deadly force and the suspect died.

The lawful use of force continuum was met. The initial force that was used was necessary to effect the arrest and no more. After the scuffle, the force level escalated with drawn, but unused weapons, until the guy shot at them. At that point the guy signed his own death warrant.

The only person to blame here is the stupid idiot who committed suicide by cop.

Eat a dick up 'til ya hiccup, Matlock.

Sorry, somehow you've gotten confused and have assigned me as someone with your own habits and proclivities.

Not that bending over and taking it dry and rough like you do is a bad thing, I'm just not into that scene personally.

Wow, you took your homoerotic fantasies to the next level. Good for you, twink!

Just to stress: "Homicide" in a medical context simply means that Brooks died as the result of the actions of another person. It's not a legal judgment.

I suppose the gunshot made it a little harder to pull the old "George Floyd just happened to have a heart attack at the exact moment a man was kneeling on his throat" trick.

It doesn't, that's why he wasn't shot for a DWI.

There was no "clear and present danger" to the cops at any time, ergo, the use of deadly force was not authorized. That's why the cop was fired, that's why he's facing murder charges. He executed the guy. Spin that however you like, the underlying facts won't change. I know Authoritarian followers such as yourself and Hogjack often bend over backwards to excuse police misconduct.

And those darn kids with their pesky camera videos are making it harder and harder for police to dish out "extralegal punishment".

LIE!

The dead guy SHOT at officers while trying to evade arrest.

How much of the events in question do you want to ignore in your quest to railroad someone into jail? All of it? Some of it? Only the parts that show you're a biased bigot because you won't acknowledge them? How much?

Or do you want to admit the truth?

Bigotdownsouth has been shot in the face with a taser, so he know it doesn't hurt.

Just stings a bit....so he says. Hasn't been quite right since.....but no worries......

The guy offered to walk home or to his sisters house. They had his car. De-escalation was a no-brainer at that point. Bring him in the next day and write up a DUI if you like.

Yet Derpy and his tribe prefer the alternative. Needlessly kill a guy and ruin your own life at the same time. There’s no fixing stupid.

I didn't say there was, I said he wasn't executed for a DWI.

He executed the guy.

SPIN SPIN SPIN!!!! Just like any sort of US Customs services or immigration policy enforcement is NAZISM!!! LOL

Says the only guy spinning shit :D

The jackbooted authoritarian calls liberals authoritarians LOL.

Not buying into your hyperbole/spin isn't excusing anything.

Well.....they used to do that years ago.
But then, they had many, that after they walked home, and had a few more cocktails, they walked back, got in their cars and drove away. Others, got in a different car, to head back to the bar. An, in the process.... ran over some poor bastard on a stroll.

That particular practice, (catch & release) went away pretty much in the 70's.
For good reason.

The guy broke the law. The police were trying to arrest him for it when HE turned violent and began to resist before taking the officer's weapon from him. At that point deescalation was IMPOSSIBLE. When he fired at them, the officers HAD NO OTHER CHOICE.

That's not needless. If you play stupid games you win stupid prizes. The dead guy won the ultimate prize.

You, trying to Monday morning quarterback the situation by leaving out HARD FACTS merely shows that you're trying to play stupid games now. Guess what; you win a stupid prize for it too.

The incompetent officer had his taser removed from his body. He wasn't SHOT at, he was tazed by his own taser you histrionic twit.

Good, so let’s shoot him and make sure he can’t drive.
