What difference? The UK took Belgians in WW1, Jews before WW2 (when the US was turning them away), Ugandan Asians fleeing from Idi Amin, and is now taking refugees from Hong Kong.
Refugees taking boats across the channel are leaving a safe country, having travelled through many safe countries.

In Poland, single young male Ukrainians are travelling the other way to fight for their country.
Young men coming to the UK hope to bring their families afterwards. Paying people smugglers is very expensive. Usually, only one person can be afforded from a large family. If he gets to the UK he might be able to earn enough to bring his family later.
What has Germany to do with any of it?
