Very true. One more thought...there might be online poetry groups (e.g. MSN) set up for exactly this kind of thing. One of my friends has incredible poetry on the regular Lit site and doesn't get a ton of hits (despite its erotic nature), but she hasn't posted in the forums yet. Good luck!
