I wrote the following poem after a recent skinny dipping adventure in the ocean. A few friends and I went down to the beach at midnight and it felt amazing, so I was inspired to write about the water. I wanted to share and hopefully get some feedback/read poems others have written about the any or all of the four elements.

There is no swirling, dark touch
but the water’s dark touch
Life swift, cold hands caressing
limbs in raptured wonder
A long-fingered current seeks
to pull her ever under
A skirt rises with the tide
A skirt dragged through water

There is no deadlier tongue
but the water’s own tongue
Like a siren song murmured
sweetly against her throat
A voice sighs a little death
into each silvered note
A neck strung with milky pearls
Pearls given by water

There is no lover’s embrace
but the water’s embrace
Like a man who swells and sweeps
his lover with a roar
As the waves crash and foam sprays
Over the umbral shores
One body drowns another
A body of water

*In French, "la petite morte" (the little death) is a euphemism for an orgasm ;)

Hello and welcome, there have been challenges in the past about the elements but it'll take some research to find them, try looking HERE
