PMs has made my box full

For the past couple of weeks, I have been receiving a lot of notifications from the Discusstion Board Team telling me that people have been trying to send me private messages, but that my allotted quota for the same has been exceeded, exhausted, whatever. I see no new messages in my inbox, and haven't for days and days. What am I doing wrong???

Display your 'sent' box, check all and delete.

The messeges in the inbox and the sent folder do count, not the messege tracking.

& make sure your just not checking the last 5 days (i was doing that)

You need to clear out everything, keep what you wanna keep by copying and pasting and storing the letters somewhere else.

Go to each box, Inbox, Sent items and Message Tracking (Although this doesn't go against your quota) Set the date from "The Beginning", check each box and delete ... Like I said, keep what you want by copying and pasting, you could even save what you want to a Floppy disc, through Word or Lotus.

Lit and other sites like this only have so much bandwidth, and that's why they set the PM's to a limit for each member. If you're like me and you're a hoard LOL, keep the letters somewhere else and then you don't loose anything.

Hi Karen

I tried to pm you and its still full. I'll bore you again. There are other ways to do this, but this will work.

goto your user cp
goto 'view all Private Messages'
goto 'jump to folder' box
select inbox
place checks on posts to be deleted
hit delete
goto 'jump to folder' box
select sent
place checks on posts to be deleted
hit delete

That's all you really need to do.

I Just Gave Up !!

I had created a folder called "archives" so I could keep my Lit. messages, which I had made a subdirectory of my "Sent" messages. Nevertheless, because it had 82 entries, I had to delete them all in order to receive more PM's. Oh well, I guess it's best not to live in the past anyway. LOL

When you make a sub folder within your Private messages inbox it still goes against your quota.

Copy and paste anything that you'd like to keep from lit, place it into "Word" or "Lotus" and send yourself an email if you don't want it to stay on your hard drive.

Also, think about buying yourself a few Floppy Disks and copying and pasting to "Word" or "Lotus" and saving them to the Floppy.

So, in other words, whatever is in your "Sent Folder and your Inbox" (Including another folder that you have created) will go against your quota, you need to get rid of them before you can receive anymore.
