Hello,

I've received emails from a couple of members who are unable to receive new PM's even though their box appears to be empty. The forum tells them that their saved PM limit has been exceeded. We believe that the reason this is happening is that there are, in fact, a lot of messages in some user's "Sent Items" folder. From your Control Panel, you go to "Private Messaging", then under "Jump to Folder" at the top right, use the drop-down menu to select "Sent Items". From there, you can view and/or delete your sent messages.

Realizing that some of you may want to keep some of your sent messages, we have increased the maximum number of PM's stored to 100 (from 70). There is also an add-on available for the forum that would allegedly allow you to more easily save your PM's to your hard drive so that you would have them even after they are purged. Please let me know if this option is something you would like us to look into further!

Thanks, and keep on PM'ing! ;)

As always, Laurel, you ROCK! *smile*

Better than saving PM's to my hard drive - I'd love the option to save it to my email inbox or sent box?

Ah fuck it I just want to get in and sticky....

Laurel is there any way to have the save sent messages item autoselected off?

I've been wondering about that because it says I have 64 messages in my total of folders but....I dont, I have deleted everything as far as I know, including sent messages and message tracking.

Re: Laurel...

So you're saying you have bigger PMS now?

Bigger? I don't think it could get any bigger... ;)

No babe, YOU rock... ;)

When you send a PM, beneath the box you type in you'll see a section called "Options" with 4 options checked. One of these is "Save a copy: Also save a copy in the 'Sent Items' folder." You can unclick this and it won't save a copy to your Sent Items folder. This will disable the Sent Items thingy on each individual message. We still don't know how to make it so you can turn off "Save a copy..." by default, but we're checking into it.

Since Dill already said you rock, how about I chime in with - You Are The Shit! Meant in a good way, of course. :)

Hey, I dont get enough PMs to worry about this

:p

I have to chime in with Siren that it doesn't seem to be a worry for me, my whopping 3 PMs (one sent, two received) mean I've got plenty of time until my box is filled. However, since that time will be later now, thanks Laurel, You Da Woman!!

LOL! I've been called that in a bad way before...so it's nice to be The Shit instead of just A Shit! ;) And you too rock, BB...

Too many males in your box?? You go girl!!

OOPS!! Sorry, Siren, missed the spelling there.:)

This is a great idea, L & M. Thanks. Heartfeltedly.

(And shut up about that last word. It's a word, dammit. I have an OED and i'm not afraid to use it!)

No no no, i wasn't talking to you, L & M. Honestly.
I was doing a preemptive strike against Mensa, actually.

Me sees Laurel has a new toy.

I have an Idea; instead of limiting people to 100 make it a game. Randomly assign people various PM amounts and then switch them around every few days.

You've got a bad little evil sick twisted perverted mind going there, Never. Now back away from the PM controls, hands in the air...
