Plugging someone else's story

rgraham:

I agree with you. It not only dealt well with a difficult topic, it used ordinary people to tell its story.

I could really appreciate it because sometime shortly after I began dating wifey #2 I contracted oral herpes, and lived with it for many years thereafter.

She told me that she had gotten a mild case of genital herpes (if there is such a thing) during her wild days. I was like, 'hey, information I could have used before I went down on you'.

Of course, I have no idea if one can contract oral herpes from genital herpes, but the timing was kinda suspicious.

It ended okay for us, though. She never had a relapse of herpes, and my almost weekly mouth lesions went to monthly, then bi-monthly and now they only occur about once a year.

Do you really want to know all this??

I really, really liked this one.

It deals with a subject rarely dealt with in literature and very well.
Thanks for pointing this one out to me. Fantastic story. Wonderfully written.

I bet you thought I wouldn't notice!

You are so sweet!

Thank you, Rob :) Thank you, all. :)

Penny

Regarding specific questions about the disease:

Yes, I do, if only that by discussing such things we may further the awareness of a disease contracted by many responsible persons, more often as a result of ingorance than either malice or selfishness. Herpes isn't something that only happens to skanks.

If there is such a thing as 'mild case' of herpes, that would be news to me. So far as I know, you're either infected or not. Although the symptoms are largely treatable and lessen over time, it is a lifelong infection with no known cure. To the best of my knowledge, the situation portrayed in the story is realistic in that an infected person without the slightest symptom can pass the disease to a partner who may then have severe symptoms. And yes, it is also possible to transmit either strain of herpes in either direction through oral sex.

I don't pretend to be an expert, so don't take my word as gospel.

Most of my information came from sites like:

Penelope - Someone pointed me to one of your other titles tonight, and, oh my oh my... *smiles*

Plugging titles is an excellant idea. Let's face it, there is a heck of a lot of chaff to go through on Literotica before one finds the wheat.

For shear amusement I highly recommend this story:Ex-Rated Wedding by beowulf
It's absolutely hilarious and still sexy.

Another one that is high on my list is:
Fit to be Tied by Patricia51
It's funny as hell - well written and totally off the wall.

Damn, I'm going to get a big head, Kitten, Stella, MissJett.

Bullet, Patricia does do good work. That one is a fun piece. I also liked her Bridget stories.

As you know, I have a thing for vampires. ;)

I'm sure I've plugged this story before, but I'm doing it again in case anyone new to Lit hasn't read it yet.
I agree. Great voice. I love historical pieces.

How about something short? This one is somewhere between a scene and a story:

http://english.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=143725

It's your stereotypical n/c scene where the woman gets caught committing a crime and has to choose between submission and a call to the authorities. Not without its shortcomings and probably in the wrong category, what sets this work apart is the marbles- one of those delicious little details that makes all the difference. In spite of the clamoring for a sequel, I believe it ends at the ideal moment.

Bob, Penelope,

I just read this story and will re-read it again before commenting on it. Preliminary is, I enjoyed the hell out of the story.
