Great idea CS, I might worry about plugging my stories somewhere else but feel kinda safe in the AH.

Well, I picked out and read about 3 stories from previous posts and you will see from my public comments that I was pleasantly surprised with each one.

I am working on one, it is my first attempt at speech to text and I keep getting interupted, sometimes excited, by things like teaching my computer words like cunt, he, he. I'm not using a great microphone so some words I wanted to use I had to change, and some I am gonna have to go back and correct. Anywho it does seem easier using the voice to text but I can tell its gonna take heavy editing.

While not new I invite anyone who hasn't to read one of my stories, bye.

Nah...

I even had a begging note for a story in my sig line until a couple of days ago when I removed all bar the one. Still no bugger read it. I'm not complaining, all my stories are rated over 4.0

Bit pissed that the ones I worked longest on have the least votes, both stories that I knocked out in under two hours have my highest vote/hit ratio. The exception being the only one in my sig line, it continues to receive steady reads, votes and praise.

That's about as pluggy as I'm gonna get.

Hey CS, I went and read that story, and gave it a five. I had read the title of the previous comment and titled my comment "not too gay". After submitting mine I read the previous comment. Without mentioning names I cannot see someone leaving a comment like that concerning the content of a story, with absolutely no mention of how well it was written. I am sure you are intelligent enough not to take a comment like that as a reflection of your work. Due to the comments total lack of respect and its intention to blast without reason, you might want to consider removing it. In this case it would be justified in my opinion.

Thanks for the read, it was exceptional. I voted, sent feedback and left a public comment, but on looking at it, I don't see that the PC has registered. Plus I notice that the Feedback Portal Page seems a bit wonky, or is it only me that's not getting the page up?

Anyway, hope the PC surfaces, because I truly do endorse it, and I leave very few public comments - only for stories that I believe are really special.

I don't mean to rain on any parades, but there's already a thread for story promotion located on the Story Feedback Board:

It's called "New Story Advertisements", and the idea was to provide a place where authors could not only announce new work, but could talk about their story too: what they were trying to accomplish and why they think people should read it.

Really, if you want people to read your stuff, it helps if you give them a good reason why they should bother. It also gives you a chance to try and focus the feedback to more than thumbs up or down.

Yeah the feedback page has been fusterclucked since they were upgrading the servers a few nights ago. My firewall thinks its guarding fort knox and blocks all kinds of stuff so I thought it might just be me. So, is somebody else gonna tell manu or ya want me to?
