boy meets girl, girl and boy fall in love, parents at centre of century old feud (sp!?) do not approve of child's love interest. Girl is kidnapped and held ransom, boy saves her, girls parents consent to their marraige.
(the kidnapping part is not standard, though over used)

If we combine kidnapping with mistaken identity, we can get HIM to kidnap the wrong person, a guy, they discover they're gay, and the girl is jilted.
Poor thing. But that's what you get with a nonstandard kidnapping.
