seriously, I can see why you don't want fetish stuff in LGBT forum, but in here? I don't really see a problem with it in here. but that maybe because I equate kink with bdsm (ducks).

Yeah now that I think about it, where exactly are the lines between BDSM and fetish? Much of it goes hand in hand, really. Saw you listed mine on there (ofanks), and I was reminded that macro is pretty much the foundation for every single BDSM thing I'm into. Trying to separate them does not compute for me~

As a mod here I would at the most only be moving threads which were exclusivley fetish with no BDSM content or context, not those which were BDSM with fetish. Fetish is a big part of many BDSMer's life and part of that interest, not something apart.

Sometimes we get threads in here that are like "I love feet! Does anyone else like feet? Feet are awesome! Feet feet feet! Can we talk about feet?" And the rest of us go, "wtf is this doing in here" and *why does this stuff always end up in here?"

That's what a fetish forum would be for. If something is an overlap,it can go either place, just like gay bdsm does currently. For example, "I like to feel humiliated by having a woman rub her feet as I lie on the floor like the scum I am" could go in either place, it would be up to the OP where they want to post.


Like Cat said, though, there are occasionally clear cut situations where a thread doesn't have bdsm content. That's what this is about.

I have never understood why this bothers people here.

However, a fetish forum does make sense for people who are actually seeking such a thing.

In other words - I'd vote 'yes' to help the fetishists, but 'no' if this is just a means of turning up our collective kinkier-than-thou noses.

What I do have a problem with is that as soon as a thread like that gets posted in this specific board it will get shot down. BDSM stands for bondage, discipline, sadism and masochism. I don't mind scrolling past topics I don't like. I do all of the fucking time, in fact, because most of the GLBT board is full of crossdressingtrannyIjustlikecockbutnotmen posts. I however, would like somewhere I can actually talk to people about the fetish things I like, without knowing I'm going to get people up my ass for posting them in the wrong board. Tree fetish? Robot fetish? These things just aren't BDSM but I'd post in a thread about them.

High heels guy would get a better response in a fetish board. I would get a better response in a fetish board. I'm just citing that thread and the fact that the first few posts were not OH I LIKE HEELS TOO, but "we really need a fetish board". You can't magically change the posters here, but you can make a board for general kink so the macrophiles and mechaphiles and shoeophiles and electrictapelivecamophiles have somewhere to go and find a common interest instead of a bunch of posts on 'we need a fetish board'.

The really difficult part of having a fetish board like that is that it'll probably be mostly wank-fodder threads that get little to no replies because real fetishes are very personal things, and from what I've seen, there's not too much that's up for discussion unless you find someone else that is exactly into the exact thing as you too. And in a place like this, there are probably going to be a thousand people, each one with a different fetish, and a different thread for their fetish that none of the other fetishists really care about.

Fetishists don't seem to like discussion so much as they like wanking, so these "communities" end up becoming very stale and disconnected unless there's tons of art, stories, and roleplaying to keep people wanking.
