This is driving me insane. A friend gave me a mix tape a while ago, and I've since lost touch with him because he moved. The tape got shredded in my piece of shit car stereo, and I have to have this song. I can remember bits and pieces of it, so here's what I can remember:

He's got a really bad sense of time
He only listens when she's bout to break down and cry

(something)

Chorus:
Just walk away like you never cared
Don't even look at him if you're still cared

And all the things that you never said,
They're gonna stay with you until you are dead,
So take advantage of the way he made you feel.

It's only a matter of time,
You're gonna find you're piece of mind
And maybe settle down in the one bedroom apartment

Some of those lines might be out of order, but what I have there, I'm sure is right.

Please, please, someone has to know this. :)

It's kind of a slow "power" type ballad. That's the closest I can get, it's kinda eclectic, but that would describe it best.

And don't call me Pat. :)

AWAY by Athenaeum (Radiance)

He's got a really bad sense of time
He only listens when she's about to break down and cry
But she's got a lot to learn about herself
She's always blaming her sorrow on someone else

He's not a really good person from the start
He's always making it a habit of breaking her heart
But she's gonna have to take half the blame
She's always taking his shit
But I swear it's gonna change

Just walk away like you never cared
Don't even look at him if you're still scared
And you don't even have to give him a reason why
But all the things that you never said
They're gonna stay with you until you're dead
So take advantage of the way he made you feel

It's only a matter of time
You're gonna find your peace of mind
And maybe settle down in a one bedroom apartment
And all the evil things he might say
Will come back to him one day
When he least expects it
And then maybe you'll be a million miles away

Miles away
Away

THAT'S IT!!!! Can I ask how and where you found that? I've searched just about every lyrical search engine I've found and come up empty.

I LOVE YOU IZZY!!! I owe you one, bigtime.

Damn...I guess I was over thinking that one then. Never thought to try a regular search engine since I didn't know the song or the band.

Do you Yahoo?
No, but maybe I should start. :D

Now I just have to hope it's on some obscure Napster user's HD somewhere.

Izzy you smartass. :p No, you may not call me Patti, even though I do owe you one. My handle is actually a variation of my last name, not my first.

And I did find it on Napster. Woohoo for me.

i put your chorus in quotes .. and used yahoooooooooooooooo

Don't pay any attention to that woman behind the curtain.

I still wanna believe that our Canadian IT girl actually knows all of these song lyrics without resorting to search engines. Please don't disillusion me further :)

"The bitterest pill is mine to swallow
If I lived for a hundred years, I wouldn't feel any more pain"

I'm down in the tube station at midnight

RonG I love The Jam they "are" London.

London calling

lol Chester ... well sometinmes i do check on the search engines to get exact words when i quote long lyrics ... sorry to pull an "oz" on you dear .. hey btw i have dressed up as Dorothy before ... :)

but mostly i quote them from the top of my head .. so many things remind me of songs .. that's why ..

and also keep in mind, luv, that i would have to either know of the song or the artist that is relevant to a thread discussion before searching ..

London calling to the underworld
Come out of the cupboard, all you boys and girls
London calling, now don't look at us
Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust
London calling, see we ain't got no swing
'Cept for the ring of that truncheon thing

My youthful idealism is once again resurrected. I am more in Outsider's corner on London, though - The Jam represent that period in my mind. The Clash are my favorite band of all time but they hit more of a world consciousness (and require deep thinking). I always make it a point to look for Paul Weller in the video of "Do They Know It's Christmas". It's so damn hard with those nobodies like Sting, Bono, George Michael, Simon Lebon and Boy George sticking their mugs in front of the camera.:)

You as Dorothy: "I could lose some hours thinking of it/ I need the strength to go and get what I want/I could lose a lifetime thinking of it/And lose an era daydreaming like I do" - Absolute Beginners, The Jam

"The public wants what the public gets
Well I don't give a f*** what society wants
I'm going underground"
