Please, someone explain this to me!

Added to the "Avoid this writer" list, and it showed up as a Favorite?
that actually makes sense. this must be it. if so, thats fantastic. I don't enjoy exposing people who don't like my nonsense to more of it.

but he doesn't have any lists. just checked. can you create hidden lists?

A few years ago I had someone leave a comment along the lines of "I hate everything you write. I cringe when you publish something new, knowing I'm going to have to read another of the world's worst stories from the world's least talented writer."

I wasn't insulted because it was so funny.

And then I started to feel bad that someone out there was being made to read my stuff under duress.

This is a real stab in the dark but it looks like someone has commented on one of your stories then started following you🤷‍♂️

I could be wrong though

The “I hate everything you write,” is weird, right? Why do they read everything if they hate your work 🤷‍♀️? Masochism kink?
Best case it was hyperbole. They simply meant they'd sampled a handful of stories (which is probably the best way to find out if you like someone's style/kink) and hadn't enjoyed any of them. Not sure why they had to announce it, but it's totally valid. Lots of stuff on here I don't care for due to taste, and the kinks I like to write about are not for everyone.

More likely though they just didn't like that story and decided that would mean that all my stories wouldn't be enjoyable.

Of course it is possible that they really had read everything up to that point (and maybe everything I've written since lol) and felt compelled to keep reading even though they hated them all. Makes me kind of sad.

Thing is, with some people around here, it’s not infeasible…

Completionism. The same reason why people keep clicking on threads long after they've lost interest. It's a habit, and one that's difficult to become aware of. Basically, it's "this is something I've done, so it's part of my life now and I have to keep clicking."
