Thanks for all the replies and for the great words you have all added to this thread.

I don't know whether or not the poets will thanks me for this, but I feel I should do this anyway...

I want to dedicate this thread to the memory of smithpeter.

With love and respect,

I'll have to paraphrase this because I don't know the actual quote. It was said by Clarence Darrow, but I believe he was quoting.

When I stand before my maker, judge me not on how I have lived, or what I have done, but on how I have loved.

It will not matter to me whether I be written in the books of history, so long as I am written in the book of love.

I work with the public every day and every day I see people becoming more and more aggressive and ridiculously non-communicative with each other. I try to be cheerful but just coming into work each day is making me depressed right now, so i know where you're coming from.

When the overiding atmosphere is one of sadness and vengeance and anger it is hard to promote a way of living that relies on peace and understanding. Even harder when we belong to the monosyllabic generation that seems to have taken over right now.

The song lyric that always grounds me belongs to Cyndi Lauper.

"You with the sad heart
don't be discouraged, can't remember wen I
last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy and you;ve taken all you can, then
call me up
because you know I'll be there.
And I see your tue colours, shining through
I see your true colours
That's why I love you
Don't be afraid, to let them show
Your true colours
True Colours
Are beautiful, like a rainbow."

For tony.

I'm quite new to the boards, so I don't really know many people here; but I do know a couple of people from the poetry forum quite well and when I read the thread there I felt deep sadness for their loss and hurt. I didn't know smithpeter, but it is obvious he was someone special, and I don't need to have known him to feel a painful empathy for people here I care about.

Katie - you know what I think of you.

Ange - so do you; I am so sorry.

Thank you sweetie.

He was a great, great talent and he was one of my best friends. We wrote together, read to each other. We both loved jazz--we talked about writing a book of jazz poetry together. When I met ee, he worried over me like a big brother because he didn't want me to get hurt. Now I'll never see him again, and that's hard to even believe, let alone accept. Yknow, uppy, we all move on with our lives but losing someone you really love is just very difficult. Thanks for being a friend.

What distubs me is that I didn't remain a Virgin for long!

Do I have to take a photo of my genitals? (Or am I thinking of the wrong forum?)

I hope you've cleared your pm box by now ;)

ooops. I'm off to do that now, lol. And I'd think you'd be pleased with the non-virgin status. And sure take whatever photo you want honey, but um aren't you at work? :D
