Please help me

Hmmmm... I beg to differ. Before, I had 50% grey and was only 40. After (and for the last year) I have my hair pro-dyed to a combination of shades that look good with my skin and eyebrows (NOT my old natural colour, beause my skin-tone had changed too).

After the first dye-job I lost count of the number of people who said I looked healthier. Before the dye-job my face looked totally washed out. I looked ill.

Also, beg to differ on the damage point. I have fine, dead-straight hair and it was silky and very shiny before the first dye job and it's still just as silky and just as shiny now, after over a year of every-six-weeks dyeing. And btw I use cheap shampoo and conditioner.

One thing I agree on is that a good hairdresser is worth their weight in gold.

Grey hair is often quite coarse and can be improved by the dye's softening conditioners. In general (As in, more than 90%) of young women with non-grey hair should leave their hair alone.

Dying can be beneficial in a few cases, However, home-dye kits are hit and miss in quality, often miss, and a LOT of women use them. A salon's color is vastly different with how much gentler they are...thusly less damaging as long as it's a reputable salon with good quality products.

The simple fact is in order to penetrate the hair shaft and change the color of the hair PERMANENTLY, damage is caused period, whether you'll notice it or not (obviously demi-permanent or semi-permanent colors aren't nearly as drastic or long lasting, hence gentler). It's about how much damage and how often you dye your hair, plus what sort of dye you use, and how healthy your hair is to begin with if you do notice a change.

In MOST cases, women should leave their hair alone. That is why I put the disclaimer in that a hairstylist should be spoken to, because in some cases chemical treatments are necessary.

But I have to add, you are doing yourself a serious disservice using lower quality hair care products. If you switch to a better brand, I can guarantee you'll notice a difference.
