tankcommander, it's the ford 427 not the hemi, which was a 426. ford's 427 was rated at about 455 horses or so, but sombody managed to jack it up n a gt500 to about 500/520. the hemi i think, not sure, but i think was rated at about 500 horses.

private vasquez, my sincere apologies for not being a man of wealth and fame, but on the other hand i am waht you might call a fairly different person. i hate to follow fashion (except that which i might accidentely start), i'm direct and honest person, but i can be as cunning and crafty as the devil when the need arises. i tend to revel in the complexities that make us human. neat huh?

azwed, i lust after that badass little roadster with the `67 vette and close second and a `67 gt500 in third. actually the 289 cobras' handled better, and won more races but was only due to the fact that the rules were changed to the disadvantage of the cobra's. still, it was a hell of an idea, an american big block in a nice light little car. wish i could afford either the replica or an original.

So many people just lust after the massive 427 and don't know how much better the 289 powered roadsters were. The 427 was just too much of a weight penalty up front even in aluminum form.
