Pleasant surprises...

As I was sitting here checking out posts, I had a pleasant surprise. Had my stereo on, CD's playing randomly and forgot one of the CD's I had in the machine and heard a cool song for the first time in months..."wrong number" by the Cure. Made me think back to other pleasant surprises...finding out my wife was pregnant (both times), running into old friends in unexpected places, having a student tell somebody they learned something in my class, seeing such interesting posts on the boards here...

Made me wonder if anyone else would want to share some of their own pleasant surprises...

Yes, a sweet, shy Danish friend of mine sent me a cd the other day. It is the Corrs unplugged. No, I must live under a rock for I had never heard them. It was an excellent album. And a sweet wonderful surprise.
He knows I am trapped here and needed a pick me up. How kind, thoughtful and generous. I won't mention his name because it might make him blush, but he is a sweet, shy guy from Denmark.
