Let's say that you have a playwright, regarded by many as an utter genius, a modern-day Shakespeare. And as geniuses usually are, this man is eccentric and controversial - yet nonetheless adored by his fans.
The playwright's latest play is sure to get a rise out of the vocal prudes as it features an actual sex scene. The playwright insists to the director/promoter that the scene not be simulated - the actor and actress really have to have sex with each other.
The sex scene was never rehearsed, it was always intended to be ad-libbed, so the two leads find themselves screwing (and seeing each other naked) for the first time in front of hundreds of people. Not being porn actors, these two aren't eager to be such flagrant exhibitionists, but starring in a play written by the aforementioned playwright virtually guarantees a stage actor a successful career, and so these two actors brave their inhibitions and perform their roles for the promise of a brighter future.
