I'm a fairly new member to the site as well as to the life style. I've been a slave for a little more than a year. The other day, my master decided that we would shortly be able to shop for toys. I haven't used much of those either, and I"m sure I'm not aware of everything that's out there. He's already decided on a spreader bar and a floger, but I was hoping for some extra tips. Anything from fvorites to brand names would be helpful.

Be sure to check out the Homemade Toys thread(s) (Kailey_86's is the longest and on the first or second page, I think), because you can amass a ton of toys without spending a fortune and are only limited by your imagination. Things like spreader bars and floggers are very easy to make with a variety of materials that are easy to find. A lot of things can be used as canes and spanking toys, too. Go through your kitchen and home and think about what might produce neat sensations.

If you're a toy novice, seeing what you already have or can make/acquire inexpensively is a good place to start because you can determine what you like before investing. For example, we made floggers out of rope and vinyl before buying leather because we'd determined we really liked playing with them. Same with canes.

By far our favorite multitasker is the Hitachi Magic Wand w/ attachments (blue vinyl or silicone, not the junky jelly that can't be cleaned well/sterilized). We use it for clitoral, g-spot, vaginal, anal, handjobs and sore muscles, and really can't say enough great things about it. It's not the smallest or most quiet toy available, but there are many reasons it's been a bestseller for decades!

Don't buy a spreader bar. All you need are dowels and eyehooks. In fact, don't buy anything for bdsm that has a use in the non-bdsm world. That includes most everything NOT made from leather.

Are you two shopping for toys online, or do you plan to visit a local porn shop? It's been my experience that porn stores don't offer the best in BDSM equipment. (If anything, they usually have cheap "cat tails" made of rubber or pleather, fuzzy "luv" cuffs, and other damn near 'nilla kink toys.)

One of my favorite places to shop online is eXtreme restraints. Yeah, the crop can be pretty nasty. J broke the crop on me last week. It wasn't being used THAT hard. i guess it was just cheaply made. *sigh* It was sad to see it go. Mind you, it would make a nice cane now.

it stings very well actually. i'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing or not, but when Master uses it, it stings...far from 'fuzzy cuffs' lol...you can buy 'leather' floggers as key chains too *shrugs* i love it!

I know the product is not "like" a fuzzy cuff. I only meant I group them in the same category of novelty toys. I've never had any luck, for lack of better words, with one of those whips. I do know what you are talking about. I saw the pics you posted and have seen those toys at porn stores often. As I said, they make a keycain version as well.
