Thread didn't take off like I hoped, and life got busy for me to maintain it. Hope someone takes over the mantle when (if) this thread reaches 5000 posts.

Do you find the 5000 post cap stifles the threads? I find I'm less likely to post as frequently in a thread since they introduced that cap. The original playgrounder's thread was MASSIVE, one of the biggest threads I've seen.

Certain threads for sure. Like that one yes.

I am a bit confused about how capping at 5,000 helps when the most popular threads reopen anyway and the server still keeps all 5,000 from the closed thread??

Or am I being obtuse? LOL

I don't understand it either. But I've not seen the back end of this site. I mean, it is a feel old forum, and as such probably a lot of old code.

I have been on Lit about a year next month. But I seem to remember the site from many years ago. If the coding is that old it probably is a pretty complicated and somewhat archaic system.

Yeah, that's my only guess. I'm not well versed in the script/code that is involved in forums. But any site as old as lit has got to have troubles with their back end.
