The Day

My day is now a tad better, MAJORLY cooled down over here and the story is flowing quite nicely.

Had my drink, the cat needs to be fed, but otherwise, all seems fine.

Of course, now I will have a power outage and everything will go pffftttt.

*chuckles* Hope it doesn't go pffftttt, but if it does you could fall back to the old pad and paper style of writing. :D

I still do that on occasion in the bathtub, before I fall asleep in the hot water. lol. :D
 
Paper

Only once in a blue moon do I write on paper now, usually just a note or an idea. I compose in my head and then put it down on the screen.

I HAVE had a problem or two with the computer ERASING the story and disc - TWICE - and having to start all over from scratch. I was NOT amused. One of the stories I have never re-written, although I likely will get around to it sooner or later.

jushorny suggested flash cards. I'm going to get one of those and store my stories on it. I can just pull the card and take it where ever I want and use it on any computer.

I happen to use those too, for storing all my pics on, keeps them out of the way of people that shouldnt see them.... ;)
 
Stories

As I said, the stories are in my head, so I don't lose that.

What I DO lose are the actual physical words, so I have to re-type. And I may lose a turn of phrase I particularly liked before, or a subtle nuance. Luckily, in over 150 stories, has only happened twice.

The first time was horrendous though. It erased ALL my LIT stories, had to re-load 'em from the site.

Ohhhh heaven's I never thought of that! (Gotta get a flash card for sure now. LOL) ;) :D

Pain and beyond

It was indeed RED, a major pain. Took me over a week to re-load and re-format the darned things.

I think this is the longest I've been on the Boards in MONTHS

I've had "Board" breaks too... usually a few days of slow, little posting only in my SRP's or on a couple threads.

Sometimes you need a break.

I don't think I was necessarily taking a break, just didn't have anything worthwhile to post. So, didn't post. :nana:

Today, mind is clear, feeling creative [ although the darned indigestion is coming back, bloody hell! ] and feeling chatty.

Back after I grab a Tums.

Yes. ;) I will pick up one call it stories and one call it mark. ;) Eventually I'll fill them both up. . .( mmmm... filling/feeling mark up... there is so much potential there. ;) ) :D

I took a break once - nearly left actually. I was getting some negative responses and also was being ignored, so thought it was time to go.

Came back in dribs and drabs, but I still don't post in the amount I used to. Doubt I ever will either.

Plus, a lot of my LIT amigas have vanished, seemingly forever.

I've had the urge to leave before, but in the end I enjoy my time here.

Back. Sorry, LIT froze up on me.

I wasn't enjoying it at that point, it was becoming an effort to be out here, rather than fun. So I packed it in.

What I note now is I never see a lot of old faces anymore. Haven't seen SULK in ages, for example. I wonder how people are doing, so that is why I check in from time to time.

I think some threads lose their punch. For a while a lot of newbies came and it was a bit overwhelming, but those that wanted to really stay became regulars and added a new face and new thoughts to the old.

I somewhat agree, but it's a shame. My other major thread limps along, but the founder left and she seems to have taken the BAM! along with her.

Oh well, I am here for the nonce. Although I am surprised everyone else still is.
