It seems the 2 boards were meant to be different but I can't really see much difference in how they're used. Sometimes it's hard to decide which to start a thread in.
It seems Playground is a little bit more sexually adventurous, which is good. Somebody wrote that there's a bit less flaming and more respect on Playground - if true that's also good.
On the other hand it seems a lot more people go to General, so a thread can get more response there.

You already know the answer to your question, I think. I've seen your posts. But I'll give you an answer anyway.
I like some of the threads on the GB, but I've found the Playground to be more playful. The GB seems to get a bit combative at times, and some people are downright rude. If that gets you off, great. Doesn't work for me. So I'll stick over here in the Playground where people are fun and nice. Frankly, mean people suck.

The General Board and Playground used to be two very distinct entities but as time goes by the GB has softened. In general, threads on the GB contain more of substance but not much more. I find the constant flirting and ass-kissing on both boards to be annoying but that seems to be the point of the Playground wherein part of me still expects a thread on a serious topic on the GB to not degrade into emoticons and 'show me your boobs' type posts.
The GB is ruder in that people are more in-your-face about insults but the PG has petty squabbles, backbiting, bitching, and whatnot as well.
As for sexually adventurous, I'm certain the BDSM board has the GB and PG beaten in that regard. Pun intended.

Real life (and GB) already has enough of that - there should be a board where one can escape from real life and just indulge in sweet sexual fantasy and friendliness. Isn't that what drew us all to LIT in the first place?
