My younger granddaughter did the same thing about a year ago.

Both grandfathers and one grand-uncle all prescribed the same thing -- lot's of Baskin Robbins to provide the calcium and other nutrients broken bones need to heal.

I think it was more traumatic for my daughter nd son-in-law than it was for my granddaughter, though; she thought having a cast was neat, 'cause it got her lots of attention at school.

Children are good about healing from such things, tho. They usually do better than their parents.

Update (e-mail from Bel) ...

Hey Gang:

I can't get on to Lit from the hospital, but I kinda expect Imp or Becca will have said something. Just an update because I know if I were in your place I would want one..

**** broke both bones in her left forearm at the elbow and the bones moved. They are doing surgery right now to set the bones correctly and they hope they can do so without affecting any nerves or tendons. The fracture is quite severe but they feel they can accomplish this without her losing any feeling or range of motion.

At this point the only serious danger is that which always goes with a general anesthesia.

I am hoping and expecting that everything will come out ok. Try not to worry but if you must think on it please do your best to send **** positive healing energy...
