Ahem... you broke the cardinal rule.

What happens at the DDI stays at the DDI!

especially since I saw the second, not you.

Just thought I'd share as another card carrying member of said group. Any fool who thinks that kind of shite is acceptable in public is someone that has no idea of what the SCA is about and needs to learn to keep their private lives private.

I am into BDSM myself but that never comes into public. I keep it to my own encampment and in my own tents. The true members who get what the Society is about will not ever associate with those who believe in public displays of BDSM at events. Sorry, the organization doesn't need that kind of public relations. Remember, the rest of the world already thinks we're crazy. One should not add to any negative press. The group is there for fun, and as the years have gone on it has become more family oriented fun. I don't want my kids learning about "The Lifestyle" from anyone I don't trust. It has gotten to the point where the Society already has to worry about our younger generation indulging in underage drinking and drug use. They don't need to add unsolicited BDSM education to that list

[/rant].

fuck you Penalt.

And I agree with the other poster. BDSM should be in our own homes, not even the encamptments. Or at least not where children still are. Even though the second incident happened at night, it still was... too much for an event, especially in an more or less open area with lots of light.

FFS, our kids were about 100 feet away sleeping in our tent. And two more 10 feet closer. And who knows how many jailbaits were out and about. They don't need to see it or even to know if it happens.

Now, if the sides were up, even for just some privacy, then fine. But they weren't. It was done where anyone could have seen it.

Remember that one Clinton War where the autocrats, baronials and more were... displeased at the "predator and prey" games and even ordered one lord to pack up his shit and leave all because he had some leather cuffs for sale?

We don't need this shit. I told you not to post. Just because some hobbies vern with others does not mean that they should be mentioned.

Wyldfire, I wasn't saying fuck you to you, but to him.

and, as I said above, I agree with you.

My apologies for the misunderstanding then m'lady:).

domestic dispute?

you asked me if you should post. I said go ahead. I didn't expect you to put in that it was at an sca event or describing us as sword carrying members of the sca.

if you had alluded more and had not mentioned the SCA at all, then I wouldn't have been so volatile. You can go sleep on the couch.

Wait - you two are married - and have kids - and are having an argument on a message board?

And wtf is DDI?

DDI is the initials of the encamptment some of this was happeneing at.

No, I won't say the full name.

he's so pissed at me he's not talking to me. he thinks he was made a fool of.

Just because I did enjoy what I saw does not mean that I wanted to see it. I'd rather go to a play party than get a free view there. At least at a play party, there would be no minors and there would be others there to monitor consent.

I'm sorry he's upset.

I also feel I need to qualify a comment of my own. I mentioned my tents, in plural. That is correct. But one of said tents is set up in an encampment that is always at the far edge of the event site and has no minors in it. We play one night of the event as a play party. That night we have arrangements for kid sitting while we go play.

Just thought I should mention those facts to my previous comment:). And on the note of Autocrats severity, our events allow merchants to sell whips, floggers, manacles, shackles, and leather restraints but not to minors. But if you use them in public you will be required to pull up stakes and leave the event.

we have only two little tents. Well, one tent and a gazebo for some shade.

I've since been shown how to make stand alone walls and I plan on doing that for future events. If but to add more shade.

I wouldn't have more than one tent but Hubby's been in the group for twenty two years now and he likes his creature comforts:). Portable Car port pavilion for a kitchen, a supply pavillion, the kids all have their pavillions (two of them for five kids.), our sleep pavillion, and the play pavillion. And way way too much stuff to go into all of them:D.

I have to say in all seriousness, I believe this is a first for me at Lit.

How do you guys do this? Are you in seperate rooms of the house?

Mainly I was pissed because I asked her opinion before I posted on what I was posting. I was trying to concentrate on two of the really enjoyable things that happened this weekend instead of the two crappy things....

Nearly getting hospitalized with dehydration and nearly getting arrested because someone thought I was kidnapping my own child in a parking lot. 5 year old was having a total meltdown so I took him to the car.

Yah, me and Mamid have lives in multiple parts. RL and Online, medieval and high tech. I'm weird, I know it.

I should have filtered out the name but I figured hey, if someone who has been given the award for, and I quote, "that commemorates a meeting of situation and circumstance that inevitably brings out the highest standards of honor and chivalry and bravery." can do Play in their Inn then I can talk about it.

We live compartmented lives these days. We are many in one body. One compartment is Penalt, litster. Another is Eric, HP Tech Support. Another is Scumhunter, Scourge of the FPS gaming. There are so many others. I am sure many if not most here are similar.

Well thanks for that. And I'm glad you understood that I was not being a smart ass in asking that question. ;-)

you forgot about being pulled over on the way down cause the light went out.

our computers are about 15 feet apart. both in the living room. Mine is in a location that gets the breeze so I can keep cool. His is out of the way so that he can have his "comand"chair.

I'm still mad. It might have been after midnight, but still, I know that the not-quite-old-enoughs were out. And the rules are far stricter in the states than the are here. I honestly think your "vote at 18, drafted at 18, drink at 21" laws are stoopid. if you can die for your country, you should be able to drink.

This has almost happened to me several times. A big beefy man dragging a six year old girl in a parking lot or down the street...

If M gave a crap about message boards, we'd be doing it too, I'll bet money.

And our computers are about 8 feet apart. He's got Counterstrike up on one machine work on the other, I've got Photoshop, my online store, my email, and Lit pinging back and forth.

Geek love.

My husband and I had a arguement sitting next to each other IMing back and forth. It was pretty funny really. We didn't want to argue/yell in front of the children.

we've done the im argument thang.
what was even funnier was the "plot around the roomie" thang, especially since he had sensory deprivation headphones on him for days on end.
