Plant that grows from lust

Some people believe talking to plants or playing music helps them grow. Other people believe emotions help them grow. I myself believe my plants grow from feeding off my stress.

But what if there was a plant that only flowered and bore fruit if it was exposed to lust? What sort of person would want to grow it. And what would someone go through to grow it?

Maybe a plant that grows when exposes to a lot of ambient lust, but when it’s deprived of it it releases pollen that acts as aphrodisiac?

You could then craft a story around, say, an intern who takes the plant from thr student dorm and puts it on his or her desk at the company’s office. Suddenly everyone becomes much less interested in emails and spreadsheets, as the plant starts spreading the lust it has collected from the randy students…

I remember reading a two-part story of a family who engages in incest after getting a plant from their neighbours, but it didn't expand as to why the neighbours gifted them the plant to begin with or why it induced incest. I just remember it was a good read, if a bit vague. I also think having a story where the plant grows from being in proximity to sexual activity might work on a level of psychic or pheromone-based pollination (like it senses the chemicals and scents of sexual activity and absorbs it like some twisted kind of photosynthesis).

You'd probably grow it in brothels!

Perhaps in Roman times it became a symbol for the sex trade. See the love orchid and know there's a brothel nearby.

In more modern day suburbia perhaps it's a sign of swingers, instead of an upside down pineapple.
