Planning on flying? Heheheh.

Depending on the airline, First Class ain't what it use to be....

Doesn't matter. It's a decent meal if it's a meal flight, free drinks, leg room and no fat fuck trying to squeeze in next to you so that you spend 4 hours with your arms pinned against your side and the smell of sausage oozing from his pores.

well yeah, that too

Not so long a time ago, a certain President of the United States told the Air Traffic Controllers union to fuck off and suck it down when they wanted better wages, hours and so on.

So the ATC'ers retaliated by retiring early... leaving the air traffic control system with fewer experienced people.

Wrong. They did have a sick out in 1969 (?), got the FAA to the table, and among other things got roughly a 110% pay raise among other QOL improvements.

The PATCO strike was in violation of 5 U.S.C. (Supp. III 1956) 118p. Reagan declared the PATCO strike a "peril to national safety" and ordered them back to work (gave them plenty of time..........48 hours) under the terms of the Taft-Hartley Act of 1947. Only 1,500 of roughly 13,000 controllers returned to work. That's why Reagan fired 11,345 controllers for violation of the above law. He could have fired all members of other government unions (like the USPS folks) that went on a sympathy strike as well, but probably felt the point was made.

You don't have to like Reagan, but you have to recognize that the FAA is having a hard time attracting and keeping applicants because they play games with their controllers like not allowing them to leave the facility for lunch (as an example) if they forget to pack one. Yes...that's true.

Pilots need to keep their heads on a swivel...............but aren't they supposed to anyway?

Otherwise, enjoy the delays and don't forget to call your congressmen.
