Planned Parenthood Annual Report: Record Number Of Babies Killed In 2011, Record-High

Head of Pro-Abortion Group Caught Arranging Sex With Child

Life News

The former director of a leading abortion advocacy group has been caught in a child sex sting. Scott Richard Swirling, who was the director of the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA), was arrested for attempting to arrange for a sexual encounter with a twelve-year-old girl. He was charged with traveling across state lines to engage in illicit sexual conduct, a crime which carries a penalty of up to 30 years.

The Washington Examiner newspaper has more details:

Scott Richard Swirling, 61, thought he was discussing plans to meet a District man who was offering to let him have sex with his preteen daughter, authorities said.

It turns out Swirling was dealing with an undercover D.C. police officer.

Swirling, of Gaithersburg, was arrested Tuesday and charged with traveling across state lines to engage in illicit sexual conduct, a crime which carries a penalty of up to 30 years.

Swirling is the third white-collar worker — including an FBI analyst — to be arrested in the sting in less than six weeks.

Swirling served as executive director of the American School Counselor Association and the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association before starting his own law firm construction business 10 years ago, according to his website’s biography.

The newspaper reports how Swirling pursued arranging a meeting with the father of the girl with whom he hoped to have sex. Swirling worried about a police sting but pressed forward with arranging the meeting anyway.

40th March for Life crowds could top Obama Inauguration

Washington Examiner

The biggest crowds ever for the annual March for Life protest are expected to hit Washington January 25 as hundreds of thousands attend the 40th anniversary rally to protest the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion, according to organizers.

The march, expected to attract tens of thousands more than the record 400,000 two years ago, could rival President Obama’s Inauguration Day crowd, propelled by the growing youth support of efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade, which the president has embraced with open arms. Obama drew 1.8 million in 2009. Just 600,000 are expected January 21st.

One critical sign of how big the march will be: Hotels pre-booked for participants sold out a month ago while many Washington hotels report lukewarm interest for rooms during the Inauguration. In 2009, hotels sold out months in advance as an excited nation readied to welcome the first black president.

Jeanne Monahan, president of the March organizer, the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, told Secrets, “We’re going to have record breaking crowds.”

I will have to disagree. I work at a pregnancy test center. There are 9 paid workers and the rest of the 173 are volunteers, which I am one. I work there every single week and women come in every single week.

Yes, you have the ones that did have sex that one time and are pregnant. But we also have women who come in multiple times as in 10 plus times, etc. They come to us as our services are free. The local health department charges $15.00 for a pregnancy test.

There are many who choose not to abort. We also have some that choose to place their babies up for adoption. But we do have those who choose to abort (which we do not do). We have women who keep coming in......and keep aborting.

I deal with this exact thing every single week. Either I personally, or through our continued training hear about the women who come to our facility.

Perhaps where you are or those around you do not choose abortion as a form of birth control, but I would almost bet that it happens much more than you know. There are millions of abortion performed in this country....and a very tiny percentage are for medical reasons or rape.

...like I said, most are just because women have been taught that the baby is not yet a baby.....and because we have 2 ultrasounds and 4 doctors who give up their time and volunteer at our facility, we can do u/s as early as 5 weeks.....and there is a heartbeat.....that baby is very real.....and very much a human being.

Yes, we will disagree.....but I see it every single week.

I love this... Because experience and knowledge of how things are in the REAL WORLD are often so unpopular.

You're brave for speaking your experience.

July, we will have to agree to disagree. I don't know what the stats are for reasons for abortion. It would be a perfect world where no abortions occurred. But this is not a perfect world and to expect any woman to continue a pregnancy who doesn't have either the emotional, mental, phycical or financial resources to handle it is unrealistic..No one wants their tax dollars to cover abortions but at the same time no one wants their tax dollars to pay for those pregnant women who want to keep their babies. I'm talking about women with no money. And at the same time sex education is in the schools is seen as immoral and frivolous and contraception is considered the same way. The perfect answer would be no sex unless one can afford the consequences. But again, this is not a perfect world.

To expect someone who is not mentally or emotionally ready to see a pregnancy through until that child is born to be able to handle the emotional and mental trauma of killing a child is unrealistic.

Along with the many services offered at the facility I work at is grief counseling. You might be surprised at how many women come in....strictly for that....because of the sadness, anger, guilt, depression, etc they have over aborting their baby.

To boil all of this down to money is beyond simplistic. If a woman cannot afford to take care of their child, there are numerous programs in existence right now which help do that (yes, all of us who pay taxes, pay for this). If a woman truly does not want the baby, there are precious couples on their knees right now praying for a child that have not been blessed with themselves. To take taxpayer money, or any money for that matter and use it to kill a human being, just because it is an inconvenience, is incredibly selfish. There are always options.

(side note on adoption.......we refer to 3 adoption facilities. One, in particular, will provide a wonderful place to live for the duration of the pregnancy, all of the medical care is given and she is allowed to stay there, with the baby, for a time after the birth. There is counseling given during and after.....and the birth mother calls all the shots. She decides if she wants a family where her baby is the only child, whether she wants it to have siblings, live in the country, city, etc. She can decide if she wants parents who are musicians, teachers, pastors, stay at home mom, etc.... The birth mom picks from a stack of files that fit the criteria she wants.

After that, she also decides how much contact she wants...from none to in their life all the time......this is worked out between both sets of parents. Regardless, even if she wanted no contact, the adoptive family is required to send letters and photos to the agency, every single year, so that the progress of that child is kept up. The birth mom, can, at any time, get the photos and letters and see how her child is doing. Adoption is one of the most loving things a woman can do for her child......and it will be of no monetary cost to her).

To see these decisions made every week is heartbreaking. There are also wonderful moments when girls come in there, knowing a baby will change their whole life and choose to keep those precious lives and do what is necessary to allow their child to be born.

women that want an abortion should be INDUCED into a coma

when the BABY arrives, put Baby up for adoption

KILL WOMAN

CHOICE:)

You are kind. It is so easy to speak "statistics", but when you see the look of fright in eyes......sadness.....regret.....all of that from the girl/woman sitting across from you who just found out they were pregnant.....and to allow her to feel whatever she is, but give her advice and tell her the options.....it is amazing how their demeanor changes.

Yes, life changing, no doubt.....but it is only 9 months of their entire life......and they are giving that baby a chance to live, just as they have.

I love what I do and am so thankful for all the ladies (and doctors) who work there just because they love people and want to help.

But NOT every female who is pregnant is a woman.

Just because she has a uterus and some tubes doesn't make her a WOMAN. It makes her female.

And to expect a teenager to have a child is unrealistic.
To expect a female to have a child she is ill prepared for is unrealistic.
To expect a female who has been raped/abused/hurt to have a child is unrealistic.

Abortion is not perfect. It isn't the end all and be all.
BUT it is something that should remain between a doctor and the female considering it. Period.

As for the rest of it~this debate?

The truth of the matter is that yes, some women use abortion like fucking birth control. It's disgusting and disheartening.

Some women have had one, when they were much much younger and spend the rest of their days missing the fetus/child they killed.

Some women have never had one, will never have one and believe that to have one is murder.

Some women do not.

I believe that a woman's body is hers. NOT the state's, not the federal government, not which ever man she fucked and got pregnant by.

It is her choice. Whether to abort, keep or give up for adoption.

Period.

I could not ever carry a child under my heart for nine months and then give it away.

I just couldn't. Obviously then, adoption would never be a choice for me.

I am sure there are other women out there that feel exactly the same way I do.

Making blanket statements like that~when there are babies born every day into slum dwellings or abusive households~ is just heinous.

Maybe you think it's a good statement. Personally, I believe that there are too many black kids sitting around waiting to be adopted out NOW for me to think that adoption is the ONLY option...

and quite frankly...it's no one's business, anyway.

Because at the end of the day...the good book says...

Judge not lest YE be judged.

No one is God but God...and He/She/IT is the only being any one will have to answer to at the end of it all (if you have that particular belief system)

Do you know how many women have abortions because they were on birth control and it failed?

No. I am sure you don't.

This will be one thing that we will have to agree to disagree on.

...All of this is VERY realistic. I see it every single week. It can, and does happen. If a teenager cannot handle a baby...then stop having sex...period! She doesn't HAVE to have sex.

For someone who is raped, yes, that was not her choice....a different circumstance. All I will say to this is that we have had raped victims in our facility. Every single one chose to give birth to the baby. Only 2 kept the babies...the others placed for adoption. One of the women who chose to adopt came back to see us. She had gotten help to deal with the rape, but what she did say to us was that she was thankful she did not make a bad situation worse by killing a baby. She had kept in touch with the adoptive parents and that baby is very happy. It was hard, but worked for herl.

Abortion is not perfect. It isn't the end all and be all.

Actually it is the end.....it is a death of an innocent that can never be gotten back.

BUT it is something that should remain between a doctor and the female considering it. Period.

In the experiences of our facility, not one single girl who chose abortion had gone to her own doctor first. We were their first confirmation of a pregnancy. They did not go to their doctor.....only to the abortion clinic (which is for profit, by the way). Our facility is not.

As far as the judgement......there is not one single person that will receive anything like that in our facility. Of the 173 volunteers....exactly 100% of us have had some sort of issue with pregnancy to touch our lives whether it be a daughter who had gotten pregnant, a birth mother, an adoptive mother, women who actually have had abortions, etc. We are all there because we love these girls and want to give them real information and be there to listen. We don't judge....yes, we share who God is, but not always. Sometimes the girls are not wanting to listen, and that is just fine. We help as we can, with whatever they need.

Also, one point....... every single woman/girl who finds themselves pregnant had a mother who also was pregnant and DID NOT choose to kill them. Perhaps giving their child that same grace and chance at life would be the most selfless thing they could do.

(And adoption is much more about a mother's overwhelming love and selflessness than it is anything else. It is hard....it is sad, but much joy comes from it).

That part is very true. I think well over half the women who come in and are positive were on birth control. Doesn't mean they have to abort....just means the b/c failed.

Abstinence is 100%....Always!

I understand your points and for the most part, I agree with them.
And yes, every woman who opts for abortion had a mother who gave birth to her.
But that should not, does not, mean that her mother's choice is the right one for her.

*sighs*

I am pro choice.

I believe that there should be limits placed on the amount of time available for a woman to receive an abortion.

I believe she should have to pay for said abortion out of her own pocket.

I believe that it is her body to do with as she pleases.

I also believe that a child can not be considered a child until it can viably exist outside of the mother's womb with out help.

i don't argue about it. I don't try and tell others that I am right and they are wrong because all women, all females, are different...and who am I to tell anyone, anything about their bodies?

You are in a slightly different position. You volunteer to help women make choices that will suit them. I applaud you for that. It is a very selfless thing to do.

But in the end, that is neither here nor there.

There are children waiting to be adopted. Hundreds of Thousands of them.
Most of those children will never have a loving home because they are black or brown or mentally deficient or special needs or what have you.

To say that adoption is the only option that makes sense when we have so many kids in the system already is just...crazy.

But that is just my opinion, speaking as a mother of three that i work damn hard to take care of...

*nods*

I say that because...when I was less than legal consenting age...I had an abortion.
I was on the pill and used a condom.

I got pregnant.
I was not being irresponsible.
I was not out slutting around.
I was young and sexually active, as safely as possible.

At that age, having a child was not an option...and when you look at the statistics for black children being adopted by loving families? *sigh* doesn't really happen.

So I made the choice and i lived with it.

Same as many other young females.

You would be an amazing person to have at a test center like the facility I work at. It is this kind of experiences that help girls make better choices.

Not every single girl/woman who comes in for a preg. test is pregnant.....there are many who are negative. Those are the ones who have a second chance. To hear that abstinence is a good thing.....is what we try to share with them.

It is good to hear that you are doing well!!:)

I like you. You are very nice. I am sure that for the most part, for most people, adoption or keeping the baby is...a much better choice all around.

And for my daughters (One 18...one younger) they understand what I did and why I did it. My children and I have talked openly about it. They know the negatives I experienced (many) and the positives (fewer) and they know that while I am not a FAN of abortion, at all, I will support them in whatever choices they make because I am their mother. (Thank goodness none of my children have ever been pregnant nor knocked up anyone...)

And because, ultimately, their bodies are not MINE.

*sighs*

Some Pro choice people are not pro choice because we hate children. We are pro choice because we don't think we have right's to any one else's bodies.

It made what they told me when I was younger...a lie.

It is a law in our state that an u/s must be performed before an abortion can happen. At the abortion clinic, they not only turn the monitor around so the woman cannot see her baby...they also charge to do the u/s.

At our clinic, we show these women their babies....like I said, even as early as 5 weeks if necessary. We give them photos of the baby and one can truly see the heart and even hear it. We love showing them this little person growing inside.

Abortion clinics are there to make profit. They are there to get the job done with little or no regard for the woman. We are non-profit and all money comes from donations. We even have a mobile unit (in a Class A RV) that travels to places where women can have tests, and u/s done that day....for free. We just want them to know someone cares.......really cares!

I saw our TWINS at 10 weeks

ANYONE THAT WANTS AN ABORTION SHOULD BE MADE TO SEE IT

or

SIGN A LETTER THAT SAYS THIS

"If I see an ultrasound, there is a good chance I will see a live Baby, I choose NOT to subject myself to that and don't wish to see it!"

WHY NOT?

I understand your POV, I do.

I feel a little bit differently but only because I can not imagine a 15 year old being able to make a valid decision after seeing the child in her womb.

*sighs*

Though I guess for those who really want one, it would not matter.

(It would have mattered to me...but I don't believe it would have changed anything at the age i was, with the problems I was dealing with)

Well...I don't believe all females should have to see it.

A rape victim? No.
An incest victim? No.
A female below the age of consent? No.

But that is just me...
