Anyone familiar with the area? Eventually, we might be moving out that way.

We are going to be there in a few weeks and thought we could drive through some suburbs and take a look at housing etc.
Any recommendations? We like newer neighborhoods, wooded.

It is still too early to get a realtor, so I thought I would ask.

I know, what would the husband do all winter long in Slushburg? So far Pittsburgh has been mentioned and Vancouver.

I opt for Pittsburgh. Anything to get out of the Republic of Quebec.

I will keep you posted on the cherries.

Recently visited friends living in the St. Clair section of Pittsburgh, which was very nice. Located southwest of downtown. The area around the stadiums at the confluence of the rivers is attractive as well.

Pittsburgh is one of my favorite places. I went to high school there.

Where you live depends on what you want and schools vs other aspects.

Yeah, Quebec does suck...actually, its the french that suck

and thats cherry trees...big ones, for furniture making...not little cherries for eating...I can get them in Traverse city

wouldn't living near the stadium be kind of a pain in the ass? gotta think the traffic would be fucking horrible when there's a game.

Pittsburgh is a great place to live/work/play. Take it from a life-long native Pittsburgher. I sent you a PM with substantially more detail. Hope it is of use to you. Best of luck in your exploration.

I now live about 2 hours south of Pittsburg (and, sadly, am now in that tv market). Come on down and we'll have Ramps and opossum!

Be aware (from my limited experience there) the people who designed the city had no concept of what it means to level a hill. Not nearly as bad as San Francisco but except for along the river you're either going uphill or downhill.

oh, onions. alright. we have a patch in front of the house.

and several scattered about the rest of the yard.
