According to Obama, he believes that his administration is the only thing between the banks and the pitchforks. This is nuts on so many levels, it is frankly hard to comprehend. So he spends his entire 75 days in office stirring up class envy and polarizing the banks and now he claims that he is the bank's last refuge. What is freaking absurd is the notion that some of these banks were forced to take the money, want to give it back and Obama is telling them they have to keep the money. Wonder why he doesn't want to take the money back...hmmmmm...could it be that if he takes it back, he loses leverage to dictate what the banks do?? Straight out of Alinsky's play book and his tacit support for a violent insurrection by the peasants. What is even more amazing is that NBC and its ilk will probably praise this a "straight talk" from the emperor.

By the time Obama completes his first 100 days in office (On or about April 30th), he'll have nationalized every bank that borrowed a dime.

But guess what? The loons on the left won't say a peep.

I like his latest "name change" It was "illegal aliens", then became "undocumented workers", now I hear Obama will change it to "Potential Democrat voters", right after the 2010 census....:)

I heard about the pitchfork comment. Obama's the one with a messiah complex. And he's the one that whipped up the pitchfork-wielding crowd in the first place.

Obama lied, America died.

If true, that was an incredibly stupid remark to make given how much Obama needs the cooperation of these guys.

Timmy, the incompetent tax cheat, has made it clear that he can, and will, replace CEO's at the financial institutions. Fine, and then what is he going to do? He can't even fill the open positions in his own Dept., what's he think he's going to do, run the banks single handedly as well?

Are all the Congressional Aides giving back their bonuses?

The president is a fucking nut to begin with, so I'm not surprised. He might just start a revolution that brings down his administration as well.

Those are my thoughts as well. People on both sides of the aisle are pissed off.

Sure you wanna go there? If we have a revolution we no longer have the Constitution. Doesn't matter what ideology drives the revolutionaries, that's how it ends. You can't "restore" the 1789 Constitution by revolutionary means; revolution would shatter its presumed legitimacy for all time. Best you could hope for would be to usher in what in French terms would be our "Second Republic." The details of which are unpredictable, but judging by the history of most revolutions would be very different from what the revolutionaries thought they were fighting for.

And at this stage in American history, left-wing revolution, while highly unlikely, is still far, far more likely than right-wing revolution. Be careful what you wish for.

Actually, yes. I'd rather see it end that way as opposed to being ripped to shreds by someone pretending to uphold it.

Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of our inalienable rights, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Again, be careful. Another thing about revolutions is that they tend to eat their parents. How did Robespierre and Trotsky die?

I suggest you leave the country. You won't even do as well as General Custer did if there's a rebellion against the power elite.

It makes no difference. The destruction of this direction is worth the risk.

There is no fighting City Hall.

How much armor can you destroy with a pistol and an occasional assault rifle?

Not much.

You assume much Petey. Primarly you assume that the military, whose oath is to the constitution not the president, may not have different ideas.

Ever try to steal the cop's donut?

200 years ago, maybe 100 I could see it having a chance. 2009 is a different story.

The conservatives would be better served finding structure and a suitable opponent for the next round. Blazing guns will only make it harder for you in the future.

Actually, given the size, mobility, and capability of todays armed forces the potential is even greater than in the past. Especially when the percieved direction of an administration is considerably divergent from the percieved contents of the constitution. And remember, the military votes 70% conservative. Obama recognizes that, what do you think his 'civilian army' is all about?

You also are forced to assume that the military will actually turn it's guns on the civilian population. A population that is more in support of them and their efforts than the Obama regime. They won't be winning any 'hearts and minds' if they do.

I'm not predicting what will happen, I'd caution you against predicting what won't.

"The Fountainhead" is applicable when Toohey talks about inciting the mob and then trying to stay one step ahead of them, acting as if you're leading the Pamplona Parade...

Again bro (not so much again'), but our conservative military is somewhat limited by an Obamanation indoctrination...

These days I am not making many predictions about what the future does or does not hold. My point is that technology is different now. The government can shut down your communications, food, water, and fuel with more ease than in the past. They can listen to you through glass and sent a stealthy kite to blow up your compound. One or two lanterns will not have the same potency.

Do I like or trust Big Government? Fuck no. At this point it is what it is. Changing or stopping will take much more that a pistol and an assault rifle.

Not a balanced playing field.

Reading Liberal Fascism. There's a quote of FDR saying something almost exactly like that, but I can't find it.

"The money-changers have fled from their high seats in the temple of our civilization. We may now restore that temple to ancient truths."

That's a good one, but it was more like "if you think the New Deal is bad and radical, try blocking it and you'll find out what radical really means".

Well, screw you and your horse! That's the only one I could think of. I figured you'd like it because it heralds back to Matthew. He said so many great things. FDR, not Matthew. The latter was kind of a douche.
