I saw the trailer in March.
And yes, Johnny...*sigh*, also, Keira...*sigh*.
I didn't see it in the theater. I saw it on my computer, put on my headphones, turned up the volume, played it several times over, and just swooned.cloudy said:I go to the theaters about once a year. I miss all the good stuff.

I love the monkey.cloudy said:Indeed.
I was so glad to see (at the end of the second) that Barbosa was coming back. Geoffrey Rush isn't the eye-candy that Johnny Depp is, but he's a terrific actor, and Barbosa is a great character.
The 2nd one was more like an introduction for this coming one. Besides, this one seems to have a fairly good plot, and it's not like I'm gonna miss two of my fav actors and actresses in action.matriarch said:Pirates is about the only thing I have watched and liked Johnny Depp. Geoffrey Rush is an amazing actor.....I would gladly watch him in 'Shine' over and over again. A consumate performance.
Min and I both loved Pirates 1, but were a tad disappointed in 2. Not sure I want to watch another and be even more disappointed.

cloudy said:Watch the trailer, Mat. Rush/Barbosa is central to 3. (I was a little disappointed in 2, as well, but this one looks like it might live up to the first one)
eta: I just had to look up Naomie Harris, who plays Tia Dalma. She is absolutely beautiful:

There's no central character in Pirates that's not easy on the eye, cloudy.cloudy said:eta: I just had to look up Naomie Harris, who plays Tia Dalma. She is absolutely beautiful:

I am so going to see this one in the theaters, hopefully as soon as it comes out.
(Johnny Depp *sigh* )

Hm, in fact I can't recall any third in a series that has ever stood up. T2 and Aliens were FANTASTIC, LOTR 2 was good enough, but in adding a third to all of these was a huge mistake.
I am ... hm ... skeptical.

That is a very astute observation, I think Depp would appreciate it. I so enjoy a fine actor who can make one unawares of self or ego in a role. I too love the Sparrow in his own right, and wish he had a better 'stage' on which to prance.Stella_Omega said:It's the funniest thing; I adore Johnny Depp to distraction, and I'm in absolute awe of his talents, and no one else could possibly play CJS, but I have never, ever 'seen' him in Sparrow. Jack Sparrow stands as his own persona...

yes, but it's going to be a very short scene-- but IMPORTANT, sez the producers.Huckleman2000 said:Isn't this the one where Keith Richards plays his father?
Sigh. Maybe it's yet another example of the idea being better than the execution.![]()
