Not to mention that "arrrr, matey!" is a much better catchphrase than "konnichi-waaaaaaaa!"

Ninjas are far too generic and therefore "throw-aways".

Sure, there are "throw-away" pirates, but there are also Captain HOOKS, and Barbossas, and Jack Sparrows, and PEWS, and blackbeards and longjohn silvers...even those two movie side kicks (Pintel & Ragetti...sure, I had to look up the names, but their CHARACTERS were memorable) were more memorable than any ninja.

I would rather lose a battle & live on in memory, than win the battle and fade from the world forevermore.

now...as for spacemen vs cavemen.

Spacemen, but you gotta lose a few of the spacemen first. The uncool ones. The ones who under estimate the brute power of the cavemen.

The Spacemen wouldn't just win by firepower, but clever tactics and sheer beauty, beguiling the cavewomen (who, of course, look like Raquel Welch, while the men look like Homo-semi-erectus... what's up with that?).
