Pirate

Lilly sat down in the crows nest, This guy really does need help, I hope Uncle is going to be alright for the time being "Well, by technicality, at first I captured you, and then we came unto this ship, so in conclusion you captured me, but I rescued you, so I have no idea what to do." In truth she didn't have any ideas. She looked down below and saw her Uncle's first mate. Atleast she got off the ship before it did sank. Lilly looked at Rocky, he seemed to be the one that the crew always picked on, perhaps she could teach him how to handle it differently, the same way that Lucas taught her, speaking of him where was he? She hoped that he was alright as well. Lilly checked to see if anyone had noticed her yet. Thank the gods no one did. She saw the first mate yell the orders and Lilly only took a peek at him. then an idea hit her like a bullet. "Rocky, hold my rapier, and make sure no one else takes it from you" Lilly handed him her Uncle's Rapier. "Now punch me hard and take me prisoner.....," Lilly was risking her life, but she had to do something to help this poor guy out.

Serena smiled down at Deveree's as he knelt in front of her tied up like the pig he was. Chuckling she nugded him with her boot she he would look up at her. "You thought you could be the Siren, you are more foolish then I at first believed. The best thing you could have done was run like hell, but you had to be mr. bigshot, look what it has cost you. Now what will I do with you?" Glancing at Robert "What do you suggest Robert? Shall we sell him to the highest bidder, I'm sure the British government would love to have someone of your import back, am I right?" Laughing softly to cover the moan that threatened to rise she shifted. Someone had managed to sneak up on her back and graze her side before she killed him. Oh well accidents did happen. Looking at Robert "I was a message sent to Britain immediatly and as for his crew, recruit any that seem willing and worthy. The rest will be ransomed" and with that she turned and headed back into her cabin to relax and see to her wound.

Rocky smiled, embarrassed, "I can't punch a girl."
HE took the sword, placing it in his own sheath. He saw the seriousness of the situation though. Most sailors didn't take women captive, they took them for slaves. They would hurt her, and make her do things she didn't want to do.
He couldn't let that happen, he had to save her. It was the only way. His hand turned into a fist. Fear crept into his eyes. He didn't want to hit her at all, really he didn't.
It was a tiny slug in the arm, not even worthy of being called a hit. He didn't have time to do anything better though. He took her over his shoulder, and climbed down the crow's nest.
"Well.... LOOKEEE HERE. Rocky done beat himself up a woman."
One of the sailor's looked at her. He whistled gloatingly.
"She's a looker too. Come on Rocky, let us take her off your hands for you."
Rocky summed up all of his courage, "No, she's mine. Fair and square."
One of the sailor's got in his way, "I'm going to have to insist."
Rocky unsheathed the rapier, placing it to his neck.
"She's mine. If I hear that anyone else touches her, they'll answer to me."
Everyone else just laughed, but the man in front of him saw his eyes. There was no laughing there.
"Move."
The sailor walked around. He quickly went below deck. The other sailor's were gathering together, talking silently. Rocky went down to his own room. It was the only place he knew where to go.
"Here we go," he placed her on his bed. Looking very sorry.
"Those guys don't give up very well, I think you're going to need your sword back."
He handed it to her, "I'll go and find some food for you. Do you need anything else?"

The punch wasn't really a punch to her, but she went along with it anyway. When Rocky slung her over his shoulder she hide a small smile. He doesn't have much strength or courage, but there is a saying that women turn men upside down. When they walked past the other sailors, she wasn't frighten at all, she could of taken them down with a few hits or so. She was proud of what Rocky said to the other men. "If anything did happen I would use my fists, but the rapier would be nice to have back," Lilly took the rapier and set it aside. "Besides you seem to have a few problems of your own with those crewmen out there, trust me I can see it in your eyes, perhaps a few lessons in courage is what you need." Lilly beamed him a smile and gave him a wink.

Rocky lowered his head. Even perfect strangers knew all about him. He didn't know what to do.
"I don't know. It's just that they are smarter than me. They always say things that just make so much sense at the time, but it keeps getting me in trouble. I don't know what to do."
He sat on the bed next to her. He had wanted to save her so much, but it looks like she was the one trying to save him.
"If you feel like you'd want to teach me, I'd like to learn. I am kinda slow, but I'll try my hardest."

"Well, first off they are the fools for taking advantage of you in the first place, they are so scarred to do everything themselves that they make you do it instead, so if it does go wrong they won't get in trouble for it, in a sense you are smarter than them. You are willing to take risks. You have to find other ways to handle them. There are other ways you could outsmart them by doing your duties on this ship, for instance, learning how to use a different weapon. Using a broomstick, or a quarterstaff as it is commonly known, would be a good weapon once you got to know how it's used." Lilly looked around the room for a broom and found one, she took the broomstick off of it and held it firmly near the center, one hand on the other side and the other on the opposite side. In a slow motion she showed him how to block. In another motion she showed him how to trip someone. "You want to give it a try?" Lilly asked him politely.

Clerval

Clerval sat in the hold of the pirate ship, fooling with the locks on a very nice chest. Normally, they would have smashed the chest open, but apparently the captain wanted the chest itself more than what was inside, and he'd be damned if he was going to make HER angry. He was the only one onboard that knew lockpicks, and he was the only one patient enough to make a new key afterwards.
His payment? Anything in the chest. He hoped it would be something nice.
"CLERVAL, you rat bastard!" Someone shouted. Clerval rolled over the chest and ducked behind it as the door swung open. It was just another sailor, so he put the throwing dagger back in it's sheath. "Get up 'ere! We're fighin'!" He shouted.
"I hate this sort of thing." Clerval mumbled. He grabbed the shortbow off the wall and a length of rope. He'd be damned if he was going through the deathtrap that was the plank. He ran to the side and tied the rope to the large arrow. Overhead, shots splintered the wood and scared the hell out of him. He popped up and fired the arrow, swinging off on the rope and sliding through the cannon window after prying it open with his short sword.
"You there... gkkk..." a redcoat managed as a throwing knife found itself in is throat. Clerval stuck to the shadows, avoiding a fierce swordfight as a pirate was busy with two redcoats. He readied his sword and lept out as one was busy blocking the rapier. His ally almost ran him through, but he avoided it, sending the sword straight through the redcoat's kidney, dropping him to the floor in a puddle of blood. Before the other man could react, the other pirate had run him through as well.
"Clerval!" The pirate growled. "Fancy seeing you in a fight."
"Yeah, yeah, just cuz I'm not dumb enough to stand in front of recoats." Clerval muttered.
"Ha!" The pirate bellowed. "Yer yellow bellied." Clerval shrugged, slipping the pouch of gold off the man' belt without him knowing it. He then checked the redcoats for anything of use, and, finding nothing, headed abovedeck. The battle was at an end, it seemed, at least here.
There were rich nobles being marched up, and as they walked by, Clerval made it a point to get the fancy cufflinks off of a man as he shoved him along. No one had noticed, it seemed.
All in a days work. There were chests below, but most of them were broken open with swords, as it seemed none were as fancy as the lady desired.
"Hows my new chest going?" The captain asked him.
"Great. Just had a little setback with having to raid the ship, madam. Should be finished afore yer evening meal."
"Good." She said, obviously more interested in the tied man than a new chest. Clerval sighed and leaned against the mast as the other pirates guffawed and bullied the captives... He'd have to get back to picking that lock soon...

Again...

OOC: The previous post of mine was supposed to be posted earlier, but it didn't for some reason... hrm. Anyhow...

Clerval looked at the chest. The lock just wasn't picking. He stood up, frustrated, which was very rare for him. He looked at the box once more and kicked it, rather hard.
With a slight "ping." Noise it opened, a load of gold and jewels inside, as well as a book.
"Not like any of these waterlogged morons can read..." he said to himself. "Besides, cap'n said I get whatever's in here."
He thought to himself. He'd better leave most of it, anyway, sometimes the captain would change her mind about that sort of thing.
But he was keeping the book, that decision was easy. Carrying the chest to the captain wasn't.
"Ahaha!" the sailor above him guffawed. "Lil' Clerval carryin' somethin' too big fer 'em! Would ye like me ta carry it fer ye?"
Clerval dropped the chest. Right on the man's toe. As he shouted and pushed the chest off himself, Clerval kicked him in the back of the knee, sending him to the ground.
"I doubt you're smart enough to pick up a chest." Clerval said, hefting the chest back up. He reached the captains' quarters unbothered by anyone else.
He sighed. Since he was 12, that had been what, about fifteen years - he didn't really know how old he was, exactly - he'd been stealing things from impatient people and large bullies. Outsmart, outrun, outlive, that was his motto. Honor was for the weak, trust for the dead. At 5'8" and scarcely 150 pounds, he wasn't going to be outfighting anyone. But, outsmarting - well, that was a bit different...
"Cap'n, madam, your chest is here." He announced outside her door. He would have hated to walk in on anything inappropriate. "Leave it at the door." She said from inside. "And stay with it."
Clerval sighed. He wanted to go back below and read the book he earned. But, it looked like he'd be sitting on the blasted chest for a while...
"Patience." he reminded himself, sighing.

"Yeah sure, let me go get a stick too," he rushed outside, grabbing one up. coming back in, he took off the broom part, leaving him a stick. He looked at it, how could it be a good weapon? He only used it cause it was the only thing. The only thing he was good at was the bow.
He was great at the bow, one of the best. The bow wasn't very good for everthing though.
"I don't know about this. I've never been a good fighter, I mean you beat me in only a couple of seconds," he looked at the way she held the stick, and mimiced it.
"You really think I can do this?"

"Of course you could, I'll take it slow and easy and then we will practice the moves," Lilly smiled at him and watched him mimic her moves. She helped him hold it the right way for a start, and showed him how to block and trip, and how to knock a weapon out of someone's hand. Just the average moves for a quaterstaff. "You have to remember that every part of your body is in use when this weapon is handled, your hands control the movements, your feet and legs are there to kick, and your mind is also important, for you have to watch for your opponents muscles, for when they tense up, they will strike you, this way you'll be able to predict the movements and counter it." Just then a knock came at the door, Lilly wondered who was there, while Rocky was distracted at the noise she quickly pulled a ring off her finger and put it quickly in her pants pocket.

Serena sat on a chair dressing her wound. She could have someone trained in this doing it but she would rather do it herself. She hated people seeing her weak. Taking a bit of alchohol on a wash cloth she pressed it to her room and let out a soft cry against her will. Biting her lip she cleaned the wound exhaling finally when she was finished. She took her bandage and wrapped it tightly over her wound. Standing up she carfully walked over to her bed and layed down deciding she needed some rest.

Boredom kicked in...

Clerval sighed to himself. He'd been sitting on this blasted chest for a while now, and he didn't think the captain was up to her usual post-pirating activity - at least, it didnt' sound like it. He had dozed off when his sharp ear heard a short yelp of pain. He quietly put his head to the door, but, hearing nothing, figured he might better check one of the windows.
He crept along to the side of the cabin, and standing on a box he found nearby, peered into the cabin. Lady Captain was getting ready for bed, apparently.
"The gall!" He whispered to himself. He didn't have long before she would actually be asleep, and he didn't intend on waiting outside her cabin door all night with a chest he'd spent all day unlocking. He stood atop the chest and rapped on the door, hard.
"Cap'n, madam!" He shouted. "I've got yer chest, 'ere! De ye want it now or in th' morn?!"
He stood there, waiting....
"I'll be damned if I wait out here in this cold all night."

Robert

"Belay that talk scum!" roared Robert as he descended the stairs towards the captains quarters. "You know as well as I do Clerval that you wait on the patience and good will of The Lady. And I enforce that good will so stow the gab." Turning to the captains door he knocked as Clerval made a face to his back. "Oh and you better put your toungue back me boy before I take it as another trophy for today. Captain, you want me and the lid here to bring it in to you?" he said. "Come in Robert" came the reply through the door. Nodding to Clerval they went inside.

Once inside they saw the Siren relaxing on her bed looking at a few missives she had taken from Devree's pouch. "Place the trunk down Clerval and you can go." were her next words. After he had done so and left she looked at Robert and said. "Well, how are things?" Standing thoughtful for a moment he replied "We took some light damage from their cannon, and we lost pretty good sailors. But we got thirty lads of theirs to swear onto the crew so we replaced them. Devree's and his officers are all locked up in the brig so were pretty much ready to sail." At his words she smiled then sitting up she winced in pain at the wound in her back. At seeing this concern filled Robert's eyes and he asked quietly, "Is it bad cap'n? I can check it for you if you want." and he waited....

Rocky winced, turning to the door. He smiled, a very frightened smile. Carefully he stepped to the door. It creaked open as slowly as he could possibly go, peeking out.
"Yes," he asked.
"Rocky," it was one of the sailors. He cocked a peek inside, "Whatcha doin?"
Rocky glanced back at Lily, "Just playing with a friend."
"Yeah, hey listen. I need you to swab the deck for me. Oh, and the captain says that all the prisoners should go to the brig," he gave a wink at Lily, "I'll take her down, don't worry."
Rocky was confsued. He didn't want anything to happen to her, but he also didn't want to refuse this guy. He took another glance at Lily. He had to learn to get some more courage.
"I'm sorry, this is my prisoner, and I am not doing anyone else's chores anymore."
The door slammed open at he made his way in. He grabbed Rocky by the shirt collar.
"What did you say?"
Rocky flinched, covering his head, "No, please don't. I'll go, Ill go."
The sailor walked over to Lily. Rocky didn't know if he should go or not. He didn't want to leave Lily.
"Well," he said, "Rocky, you moron, what are you waiting for?"
Rocky still didn't move, he didn't know what to do.

Serena noticed the concern in Roberts eyes and sought to comfort him "It isn't anything bad just a scratch really" she hesitated a moment "But maybe you should take a look I am not skilled in this and the last thing I need to catch a fever"

Lilly only smiled at the sailor, he was bigger than she, but as they say, the bigger they are the harder they fall. She couldn't kill the man, but she could harm him, with that broomstick in her hand. she stood there. "You know sailor man you should learn some manners, and picking on someone lower than yourself, you really are a coward," the man's eyes flared with anger and he lauched to grab Lilly by the arms, with a quick movement she took that broomstick and hit the man's chin, Lilly hoped that Rocky was watching this. He went to draw his sword, and Lilly knocked it out of his hands. The man backed off with a look of shock on his face, "You better get to work on swabbing the deck young man, or do I have to cause you more pain? " The man just staggered backwards and out of the cabin. Lilly sighed, this is going to be a problem, well I'm sure I can handle it well, she then looked at Rocky. "I'm sorry, now everyone on this ship is going to think of you as a wussy, well, I better report to the first mate of this ship before this does become a problem." With that Lilly walked to the door and opened it. She walked up to the deck and looked around. Not much to look at, but still a nice ship, I hope the log was not found on the ship. Lilly was ready for anything, her Uncle's rapier was at her side.

Comeon now...

Clerval stalked off the deck into the lower reaches of the ship. He saw a rather angry looking sailor barrelling into a room, and from the conversation he caught while standing quietly outside the door, he knew it was Rocky.
"Christ, they're always messing with poor Rocky." Clerval thought. Then he realized who was messing with Rocky - the same oaf that had been bothering him on deck.
"He needs to learn some manners." He thought, checking his belt for the short club he usually had with him.
The pirate obviously, from the looks of the situation Clerval noticed when he silently slid into the room, was looking to get Rocky away from the girl. "Pah, can't get women without conning someone out of 'em?" Clerval asked as the sailor whipped around. He tried to grab Clerval by the collar, the same thing he'd done to Rocky, but a quick, low sweep to the knees with the club left the man on the ground once again.
He scrambled to his feet. "Stay outta this, you little pipsqueak!" The man bellowed.
"Fine." Clerval said, dusting his hands. "I think Rocky wants to show you the door." WIth that, the man whipped around again, expecting a surprise attack from the back by Rocky. When it didn't happen, he suddenly felt the sting of the club in the back of his head, and fell to the ground.
"Sucker." Clerval said, hefting the club in his hand. "Hey Rocky, where is it that these jerks usually lock you up? Why don't you return the favor and get back to the lady, eh?" He said, with a suggestive look that Rocky may or may not have gotten....

I guess as the man was walking away the door opened and someone stepped inside, Lilly just dropped the broomstick to the floor and qucikly sat on the bed. The man walking out seemed to be getting more than just a boot to the head, the big man was knocked out by the smaller one. Lilly just gave a sigh, gladly thankful that the big man didn't get beyond the door to tell everyone else that Rocky had a girl helping him. She now knew that there was going to be trouble if she didn't do something soon. "I wish Uncle never would of attacked this ship in the first place," Lilly blurted it out, she couldn't hold the secret for much longer. When she realized her mistake she looked at the two, waiting for a reaction of some sort, to think, a noble woman turned pirate. She knew what would happen if people on this ship knew who she really was, ransome, death, the only reason why she came on the trip in the first place is to get away from the broken soceity. Lilly was tired of leading the life of a noble, tired of arranged marriage's and 'high society" lunchons, and everything else she could of thought of. With that she walked out of the room and up on deck. It was begining to get evening time, most of the sailor men would be asleep, except for those who guard the ship. She went from shadow to shadow until she found a good place to just stand there and watch the sea.

Rocky watched as Clervie burst in the door, following the sailor. He royally kicked some ass. Rocky just sort of stood there, his mouth slightly open, and his eyes very wide. People were just kicking everyone's ass today. He couldn't do anything though, except stand there, and be stupid.
What was he trying to prove, he couldn't fight, not like them. Lily just went to it, kicking his ass just like she was a man, and Clervie couldn't help but do it with some style. All Rocky could do was stand there.
He paused, as the man went down. All of this mess was in his room, not like it was very clean to begin with. He sighed. What should he do now?
Clervie suggested he get back at the girl, and then winked at him. Rockingham nodded, but he had no clue what he was talking about. He went up onto the deck, looking for Lily. He couldn't see her anywhere. She must want to be alone.
Truth was, he wanted to be alone too. HE didn't want to be by anyone else. Every time he did they either made him feel stupid, or like a child. He knew he wasn't very bright, but he had feelings too.
Rocky climbed up to the Crow's nest. It was the usual place he went when he wanted to be alone. He sighed, looking up at the stars. This wasn't confusing, this was simple, and Rocky liked it. He liked the stars, and the ocean. It was all sweet and simple.

Did she say...

"Did she say 'uncle'?" Clerval thought for a moment as he stood there attempting to goad Rocky on. He thought about it for a moment and then shook his head. "Nah, no way." he thought, slipping the club back in his belt.
"Hey, Rock, don't worry 'bout the mess, I got it. Just see if she's alright, eh?" He said, winking and nudging again. Rocky, it seemed, just didn't get it. Clerval sighed and began dragging the (rather heavy) sailor out of the room.

After tossing the man in the hold, he headed back to his room. On the way he saw the girl heading out of Rocky's room, and soon after, Rocky. He sighed and kept going. "None of your business." He thought to himself, cursing himself for having gotten involved in the earlier incident. "The only reason ya did it was because that swab was bound ta mess with ya again, Clerval." He reminded himself.

When he got to his room he checked out the book that had been found in the chest. Just someone's diary. He chucked it into his own chest and pulled the other book he'd nabbed from the ship they'd just robbed. "Ah, the ship's log." He said. He was about to toss it, as well - he hated that sort of thing, but then it occurred to him - he could find out of that girl really WAS the captain's niece in here. "And if she is?" He asked himself.
"Well, information's always worth something to someone..." he reasoned, opening up the book.

In the brig

Sweat and blood stained our clothes and the twelve of us were choking on the dry musty air. The iron bars confined us but those pirate scum left us alone. The brig was not large and was below the aft deck. At the aft of the room, a single window faced the wake that trailed behind the ship. Two of the walls were bare save some mold and mildew. Opposite the window, the brig was confined by those damn bars.

"Those damn bars!" I uttered my thoughts.
"Major?" I ignored my Second's inquiry. Solid iron bars stood like a spider's trap keeping us from the other half of the room where a staircase led up to deck. Beside the stair was a desk and some chairs, meant for guards to sit. In fact, a card game was dealt on the desk, but the two guards seemed to have left mid-hand for some reason or another.

Given the opportunity to speak openly with my men, I addressed them. Once I had their attention, I mentioned my concern.

"Men," I began, looking each of them in the eyes, "we have acted foolishly. Or, more appropriately, I have. My actions have caused us to become captives of these unruly pirates."

"Major Deverees," Jean-Rene exclaimed, "you have made no mistake! I have been your friend for years, and each of us in this room owe our lives to your courage. I serve you and France and will die to protect you."

I thought about what my second said and knew that the Adjutant-chef was speaking from his heart. "Thank you, Jean. I will see to it that we do not die in this rat-infested hell-hole."

Looking around the room at the various men, I noticed that ours was a young group, the leader of whom was only a French Major. ((USA = Chief Warrant Officer)) My second in command, Adjutant-chef Jean-Rene Lafayette was my best friend since grammar school. Of the other ten men, five were ranked Adjutant, and were in charge of various parts of my ship; and the other five were only ranked Sergent-chef and were in charge of the staff operations.

"Gentlemen," I wondered aloud, "I am concerned about one person in particular." Before I could voice my concern for Lilly the scratching boots descending the stair quieted this valuable information.

Ooc: I thought the people who attacked us were British.

"Rocky, you up there." someone called to him. Rocky looked down, curiously.
"Yes, I'm here."
"Have you fed the prisoners yet?"
Rocky just gave a blank stare, "Oh.. that's right, we have prisoners now, don't we?"
"Duh Rocky. Get you ass down there."
Rocky nodded, quickly climbing down. He made his way down to the galley, fixing up something. A nice potato soup would work. He began fixing it up, making enough bread. He wasn't sure how many, but he's rather make too much than not enough.
He began making a few loaves of bread as well. Water jugs were filled, he gave them everything they needed until tomorrow evening.
The soup wasn't quite done yet, but everything else was. Rocky grabbed a huge tray, and placed the water and bread on it. Heading down to the brig, he travelled as carefully as he could.
"Hello," he called down. Smiling as he saw the faces. They looked occupied, but he could tell they were hungry. He went over to the door, and unlocked it.
"I've brought dinner, the soup will be ready in a minute, you can have this until it's ready," he placed it on the table. Rocky moved back out, nodding to everyone. They didn't say a word, that was odd.
He made his way up the stairs, getting the soup. It was boiling pretty well by now. The huge pan was a pain to carry, but he got it down there. Opening the door, he dragged the cauldron into the thick of the crowd. Grabbing a bunch of bowls and spoons from the corner he placed them on the table as well.
"There," he nodded, wiping the sweat away from his forehead, "A meal fit for a king. Is there anything else you need?"

Deverees sets them straight

"Hello son," I welcomed our guest who was obviously lacking in his mental department. After all, who would carry a pan with boiling soup in his bare hands.

He placed the pan on a table that was in the middle of the room, "A meal fit for a king. Is there anything else you need?" I only wanted to tell him that I needed out of this prison and control of my ship back. Little did I know that Les Épinards, my lovely gunboat was growing algae at the bottom of the Atlantic.

"So, are you the Captain of this ship?" I flattered the boy while motioning to Jean-Rene to secure the room. Rocky looked at me in astonishment as I asked him if he'd like to know who I was. Nodding at me, it was obvious that his attention would be away from the door and the staircase.

"My name is Raphael Deverees--that's pronounced 'Dev-err-ooh' and is spelled D-E-V-E-R-E-E-S," I looked at Rocky's confused stare and wondered if the boy could even spell his own name. He could and he proved it as he introduced himself to me. I motioned to some of the Sergents-chef and said that they were my operations staff. Then I pointed at some of the adjutants and introduced them as the various commanders of my men. I also told Rocky that apparently all the other men had signed over to his captain.

After introducing him to most of us by name he asked where we were from and when I told him France, he looked dumbfounded and blankly stated, "I thought the people who attacked us were British."

I laughed a hearty cackle. "Do we sound like Brits?" my accent overtoning the words. When he shook his head, I continued. "My father is a govenor and he gave me a ship and commissioned some sailors. Then he sent me on this assignment: To chase the Brits from our waters and this cove in particular. I was doing just that when my sail was ripped by an arrow that only a British marksman could have fired. Do you employ marksmen on this ship.

When Rocky bragged that the shot was his, it all went down hill for the boy. Jean-Rene, having just barred the door that led up to the deck, tackled Rocky furious at his dexterity. The other officers tied up the boy and I looked into his eyes and deep into his soul. I knew this boy to be an innocent who had not meant any harm and I told the officers to put him in the corner but not to harm him.

My next question was answered with a heartbreaking response. Les Épinards was no more? I had to think fast. It seemed my only option would be to capture this ship and sail it home with my indicateur hanging from their flagpole. We ate quickly as we knew we'd need our energy and just as I suspected, we were interrupted midmeal by a knock on the door. The knock was followed by several more and then a kick as the door wouldn't budge.

Rocky was having a pleasent conversation with (don't talk for me please, thank you) the french men who were prisoners, and all of a sudden he was being tied up. Rocky didn't understand this at all, he didn't know what was going on. Why would prisoners take a prisoner? There were nearly fifty peopel on this ship. Someone would notice him missing, it was only a matter of time.
He remembered when another group of prisoners had tried to rebel. They walked the plank, they all had to walk it. Rocky didn't like that at all, he hated watching them jumpe into the ocean far away from shore. What if they couldn't swim back?
These guys could swim back; shore wasn't that far away. They had a chance. Unless of course the captain had their hands tied up again. He definitely didn't see that. He kept pleading with the captain to not do this. She didn't listen to him. He thought there was good in everyone, and didn't know why people did bad things.
He didn't understand any of this now either. He just kept quiet in the corner, waiting. Soon there was a knock on the door. It wasn't fair, these guys didn't deserve to walk the plank. Why did they do this?
"Hey, come on guys," he pleaded, "Just let me go. I'll explain to them that I was just chatting with you, and I forgot about the door. I don't want you guys to walk the plank, not with your hands tied. Come on, you don't know what the captain'll do. I've seen her punish before, don't tempt her. Please..."
He didn't think it was working, and the pounding on the door was louder. That wood wouldn't hold forever.
