Is there a way to put something on my story page to get general feedback? Rather than just specific to one story I would prefer to hear what people thought of my collection of work as a whole (especially once I get a few more than five stories up). Compliments and complaints now might be in reaction to one time occurrences, but I might have issues that show up repeatedly. Or I am off in the wild blue yonder?

About the only thing you could do is add a statement to your profile seeking readers to provide feedback on your stories as a collection. I wouldn't expect much response though as most readers are just not interested in being critics.

Good luck!

You can try it, but I'm quite sure that it won't work.

Feedback is impossible to predict. Lately, I've been getting lots of feedback on stuff I wrote months ago. I have no idea why.

Sometimes it seems like the more you ask for feedback, the less you get.

I just write, "I love your comments," at the end of each story. Whether that generates any feedback, who knows?

Maybe if I attached a nudie to each story I'd get more feedback. Probably not. Not everyone likes skinny, flat chested blondes.

feedback on a body of work

The best chance of getting feedback on a group of stories is by writing follow-up stories with the same characters. If you write well, you are bound to pick up a few fans who follow them all and will comment on them and often compare them.

The problem with follow-up stories is that readers tire of them and each time you post one, you are bound to lose readers, so each one will get fewer hits. That may not be true for other writers. It is the way it happened to me.

Math girl posed the question on the reason for getting sudden feedback and multiple hits on old stories. This happened to me recently. I found the simple reason easily enough. Many readers, particularly new ones, will read the titles in the Story Spinner, rather than in the top lists, where Laurel rotates through old stories on a daily basis. Watch that feature and you will see that when your old story appears in that group, you will get a whole new readership. I guess that is why Laurel does it.

This is a more complex site than most of us realize. I am still discovering surprises here.

Dear Ric,
I didn't know the "Spinner" thing existed. That explains why the comments seemingly come out of nowhere.
Thanks

Confused: Your AV shows you as being big-assed, flat-chested and brunette. Yum.

Actually, "Cheeky" has an impressive set of bazongas. You just can't see them in the photo.

Question for the British: I drive an old Morris Garage car. They don't still make those things, do they?

Morris "Garage"? Never heard of it. I think it's an Americanized name -- they used to do that with export models.

Post a photo of it so I can masturbate - I mean identify it. What year is it approx?

What model MG darling MG, and yes they still make them in the town where old pops lives and where they were produced originally, the MG car club will make a brand new MGB from bits so I'm led to believe.

MG Rover now also make some brand new models including a130 mph station wagon, I think you call them that in the colonies, and a new two seater sports model.

pops..........
