How much does it hurt to get your nipples pierced? Ive wanted them done for a while now as well as a tattoo. Im too chicken to do it though, any body done this that would care to tell me about their experience?

I know there are several regular posters here at Lit who have done this. They mostly hang out on the General Board, so you may get a better response if you post this question there. I have a nipple piercing and a couple tattoos. The piercing really didn't hurt too bad, just felt like someone had pinched me really hard. It is a long piercing to heal, and can sting a lot when cleaned, or when its accidentally pulled before healing is complete. It's not the kind of pain that will have you unable to sleep though.

I found my nipple piercings to be VERY painful. The sharp sting receded to a dull ache that lasted for days, and even now when the weather is really cold outside and my nipples harden around the stud, they hurt.

Tats are a different thing. Pain varies depending on which area of the body you get them on. The one on my chest was like a cat scratch. The one on my back was very painful as it was close to bone. Time done on the tat, and detail can make it more painful also.

I totally agree with ChromeCollar. My nipple piercing hurt very much. And the look of the needle is very intimidating. And it did take a very long time to heal. (close to a year). But I'm glad I did it. Tattoos are nothing. There is a sting and it's tender afterward, but I usually am able to laugh and talk through it with no problem. The first tattoo is usually the worst because you aren't sure what to expect and have yourself all nervous and tense.

If you really want to go through with a piercing look at www.tribalectic.com. They have stories by people that have had it done, and really excellent after care (and they sell jewelry). They also have a forum to ask questions and get support.

I don't have any experience yet, but I will after Tuesday. My husband and I are both getting ours done. I have heard that if you get both nipples done, the second hurts more than the first. I've been visiting this forum lately. They have a section for just nipple piercings, and I've asked a few of the questions I had and recieved some great ideas/experiences/etc.

If you wait until after Tuesday though, I can let you know both of our experiences.

I had both nipples done at the same time,getting them done was
not really to bad, was sore for a few days.They took a long time
to heal,I had them done last june on my 43rd birthday.
They are ok now but I had alot of problems with them for about 6
months.Was it worth it OH YEA!Wish I would have done it years ago they look great and are very stimulating.


2 Months ago I got a tattoo around my right nipple,even though
they didn't get anywhere near my nipple it bleed for 3 days
were it had been pierced. It looks very good now as u can see
below.

I started getting the tats in oct.of this year and have 8 of them now-some hurt like hell and some I could hardly feel at all.
The ones close to bone hurt the most for me!

My wife saw me get my nipples done and said no way in hell
was she getting it done.The tattoos were her idea and she now
has 5 of them.

I'm a body piercer and tattoo artist. I also have both my nipples pierced. The piercing itself does hurt, but not unbearably. usually they are a little sore for a few days after being pierced. They take about 10 weeks to completely heal, during which they can be tender and itchy: however the piercings are definately worth putting up with the healing process. There is a shop near us that does it all, if I go get one done Im getting them all done at once. The two girls pierced and the tattoo, I just need to figure out where to put the tattoo.

I have a ten yr old daughter that Im sure would want one as soon as I get mine- tattoo that is! So I decided I want a small one that cant be seen unless Im naked or close to being naked. When she has a full time job after university then she can make that choice for herself! lol

Thanks to everyone for their comments, Im sure this mothers day will be a fun one! Finally get something I really want! lol
