Never played it, but it seems to be everywhere, especially among the non-athletic among us, and older folks who may have outlasted more vigourous sports.

Not sure why, but saw a news story about pickle ball and thought to myself "I can't understand the attraction, but there must be a Lit story in it somehow."

Am I just obsessed with finding story ideas in everyday things, or is there a story idea here?

Anything that brings people together is a chance for erotica. Pickleball is particularly good for couples. I imagine a pair of sixty-something couples talking about their lives and about the things they have done and haven't. When the conversation turns sexual they realize that after forty years of marriage a wife swap doesn't seem so risky. In fact, it sounds like a hell of a lot of fun.

I'm interested in how this might work with a younger couple that they meet at the court and go for drinks with after...

Why was I looking at a middle-aged woman in ugly workout clothes and thinking about this?

No story mind you, just "pickleball".

It's fun to play and you can put in as much effort as you feel comfortable with. It's like everything else some people try harder than others

What's pickleball?
Per Wikipedia:

Pickleball is a racket or paddle sport in which two or four players use a smooth-faced paddle to hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball over a 34-inch-high (0.86 m) net (until one side is not able to return the ball or commits a rule infraction). Pickleball is played indoors and outdoors.

Aspects of the sport resemble tennis and table tennis played on a doubles badminton court,

In other words, a racket sport for those who find badminton too strenuous...ugh

So the badminton version of wiffle ball?

Maybe have a tentacle monster crawl into one to hide and the owner of the ball doesn't notice that they've brought home a hitch hiker.

Could be a baby, and then an adult one is trying to find their baby causing massive mayhem in the city.

Or could just be able to squeeze into incredibly tight spaces.

Or maybe it's malnourished and needs sexual fluids to regain it's proper size.

strip pickle ball?(among the older set)
nude pickle ball?
winners get to pick who they take to bed with them that night?

My wife has gotten into pickle ball the last year or so. She's taken classes and us as a family have taken a few with her.

I've encouraged her to join a league but she won't unless I join as well although my time is very limited so I can't. It's basically for those who's out lasted their tennis years and a good sports to pick up for entertainment and staying active.

That's exactly what I thought of. Pickleball courts often match people up at random, so it would be very normal for an older couple and a younger couple to play together. Then they try swapping partners (for the game!): the older husband with the younger wife vs. the younger husband and the older wife. Then they get to the after-game drinks and they all start to feel a certain attraction and a certain curiosity.

Exactly. Perfect.
