In the wake of the tragic events of today in the United States, we feel such a heavy cloud over the world's psyche. What is the lesson we as humanity should be gleaning from such unspeakable horror? Does it need to be brought right into our front yard before it becomes real to us Americans how much senseless violence goes on daily throughout the world? What is an appropriate response to these events?
Certainly not revenge. "Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord."
An appropriate response would be
- a worldwide day of prayer of all religions
- a worldwide peace conference of all nations and peoples
- a worldwide brainstorming session by the greatest minds on the planet to try to understand how we can learn to live together in love and freedom and mutual support as brothers and sisters, and stop killing one another. - Capt. Betsy
Years ago, I might have advocated retaliation. But now I know now that it is absolutely senseless. Only the love exemplified by Christ, permeating all consciousness, is going to overcome the fear and hostility in this world. Many people have represented this Christ consciousness - Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, Yogananda, the Dalai Lama - these are people who have surrendered the eye for an eye justice system and have given themselves over to total love. I urge America to load its transport planes up with seed and plows and how-to-do books and clothing and drop them on all the neediest parts of the planet day after day after day, bombarding them with love and material. We are innovators in building vessels from recycled scrap, with unconventional designs, which go to sea safely despite the doubts and taunts of many who have forgotten the pioneering and radical minds and spirits who explored and spread the human population throughout the planet, and continue to reach out toward new ideas daily.
We believe in the essential three part nature of the human being: physical, psychological, and spiritual; and the necessity to nurture and develop all three. We draw upon the best and the deeply true from all cultures of all time and seek creative new solutions to age old problems through experimentation, group interaction, and direct perception and inspiration.

Vilma B, the future Orphanage Raft: Begun at the headwaters of the Mississippi River in spring of 2000, the Vilma B travelled downriver to New Orleans and through the Intracoastal Waterway to its southern tip in Texas, where a major Orphanage Raft building effort is now underway in Port Isabel, Texas. This raft will be a world-travelling home and school for abandoned street orphans from third world countries.
Absolute Absolution, a Buoyant Neutrinos project, this will be a 50' world-travelling sailing catamaran raft, training builders and crews for the Orphanage Raft and other Neutrino Raft projects. Begun in the winter of 2000-2001 in Corpus Christi, Texas, construction now continues in Port Isabel.
Neutrinoland, a floating island ashram for those who are serious about the three-fold path of development - spiritual, psychological, and physical.
