I'll admit right off my search techniques suck. If this is out there I will apologize in advance, just point me in the right direction.

I see the instructions for posting pictures, I would like to post a picture as part of a story. Can it be done? Is there a particular story format that works better than others? I currently upload text with embedded html so I can see the preview and find any html that didn't jump a page break.

If you are submitting an illustrated story, you cannot include links to pictures on external servers as you can do in posts on the forum.
Largest picture dimension is limited to 525 pixels.
The rules for content are also much stricter than for linked content because Literotica are hosting it when you upload a story or pic.
When you include pics in a submitted story it is automatically primarily classified as an Illustrated Story instead of being classified by its genre.
In my experience that means it gets a large number of views from readers browsing Illustrated Stories, but a lower average rating, because it gets downvoted by those who stumble upon it don't like its genre.

Also, if you don't own the picture you can't use it.

You will have to use Word or one of it's clones, Open Office or Libre Office, to put a picture in the text where you want it. Then submit the .doc file. Illustrated stories take a little long to post just so you know.

And you have to own the copyright to the pictures you use.
