Odd story linked below of a guy found wandering on a beach in UK who hasn't spoken or been able to identify himself other than by demonstrating his talent for piano playing.

What I find extraordinary is it has taken almost seven weeks to post his picture in newspapers and he's being held in a mental institution. You sometimes wonder who it is that needs help.

It is interesting to note that all of the label have been removed from his clothing. This would tend to indicate that he did not just happen to be wandering on his own; someone (several someones?) put him out to wander.

He has classical symtoms of amnesia. Since there is no mention of trauma, the cause would most likely be some sort of shock that caused the amnesia and/or drugs.

As to why it took seven weeks to get his picture and story in a newspaper, the police had to first locate someone who could BOTH read and write.

JMHO.

That's a heartbreaking story, Neon. :rose:

It truly is heartbreaking. I'm hoping an enterprising film maker finds him and they make millions from his story.

I shouldn't laugh, but I am.

Pretty common practice for refugees without papers. Remove all hints of where you come from, and there is nowhere to send you back to. Dunno how well it applies here though. Just thought of it.

I read this in today's paper. Fascinating story - a concert pianist of great skill who will not speak and barely communicates and was found in torrential downpour in a Kent town. His only communication has been drawings of a concert piano and a Swedish flag, although they reckon he's English.

Truth is stranger than friction.
