no processing on this piece, but it could use a bit.

Cool...which camera did you use? I haven't really done much post touching up as yet, so that is the next area to experiment with.

that was shot with my canon 20d and my 10-22mm lens. i really want to get into some more nude work, however, i love my animal work as well.

if you need some basic photoschlock help i can help you out.

LOL, I envy you that camera.....then again I love this Canon G6 and I haven't even started to do much with it, and truth be told I am discovering I have a tendency to want at least a minimum 3-4 digital's just as my passion is with film cameras. Love nude work too, both in photography and drawing.

they are nice shots, though i might suggest working on your color technique in photoshop (applying curves) and also your cropping.

the 20d is a great camera, but frankly people get too caught up in the equipment. that's kind of like saying "wow, that's some really great equipment, you must get some really nice pictures." The only analogy I've ever heard to this is, "wow, those are some really nice pots, you must make some great food."

Never let technology take the place of the photog :)

True, though I decided not to crop or touch these up and just post as they were taken....as to colour, there isn't much at the moment. I am definately noticing the light difference between Oz and Holland...had heard people mention it, but had to experience it to realise the brilliance I am used to is just more muted here.

I am looking forward to getting the time to explore this camera more and get past auto setting which is all I have had time for so far. I gather from what most users of this camera have been saying, my former years of work with 35mm film cameras and twin lense relfex cameras has made it a lot easier to adapt to this model. Maybe I will work toward selling some of my work like I used to with the film camera work. Must admit now I am into digital mode I am enjoying the fun you can have with it and the instant effect of seeing results instead of having to wait for the developing process to see if everything has come out as you intended......does make it seem a little like cheating and less challenging in some ways though when you can just repeat the shot until you get it right. ;)

Not sure I totally agree with it not depending on the camera but the person behind the lense. It certainly can have some influence, but there are also tons of digitals out there which are all designed to suit different types of photography, and achieve different results. Much like with 35 mm etc.,.....you will get a variation between models and brands, and also films, especially if you wish to enlarge the work. That is one of the drawbacks of digital in that to be able to enlarge to the larger proportions, you need to spend mega bucks on the high end professional models to achieve the best result and no amount of talent is going to change that. The 20D for instance is going to take a far better picture (hence it's reputation as close to professional standard) than a 3 mpx camera simply because of the 8 mgpx range and refined features Canon have used. Think it ends up a combination of both photographer skill and camera quality.

Though distracted by a few things, I have tried out retouching a couple of pics....definately can be fun.

Most definately a place to explore and enjoy in all seasons (did you see the ones I took of the snow? :) ) LOL, must admit I get days when I ache for the Australian landscape, the ease of visiting rainforest, beach, and open plains all in a day's drive, but I have fallen in love with Holland and it's landscape, not to mention the beauty and diversity of Amsterdam and the canals....so I find myself thinking I am one lucky person to have lived in both environments. I find The Netherlands is a more serene beauty as compared to the wild vibrancy of Oz....and the light here is definately softer by far. And hey, I didn't think about it a lot until I came here, but many of my most trusted friends in Oz are Dutch!!

Don;t forget the famous Dutch skies and cloud formations, which have inspired artists for centuries...

That is something I run up against a lot. I was shooting low light with no flash at a private party in Vegas last January with an old Olympus OM1 sporting a 50mm fixed focal length lens. I did get a little shit from some other photographers for shooting film with what is essentially a vintage camera. It's allright though. Some of the older pro photographers came and drank with me and one guy offered to buy my camera.

I'm really liking the digital slr's right now though.

It's a warm and nice day here so I took some photos in the park.

Beautiful pics.....which camera are you using? LOL, my photography bug has been reignited and so I find myself immersed for hours reading about the ins and outs of digital cameras and their results. :)

Thank you.
I took these photos with a Minolta Dimage A1. Very nice camera with lots off setting I have no idea how to use ;)
The original pictures are around 2,5Mb each so I had to "destroy" them to be able to upload to Lit :(

LOL, yes, it takes awhile to learn all those handy little features. Must admit I still have not made enough time to explore this as much as I would like...got some tips from a friend of F's who has owned a Canon G5 for awhile so that saved a bit of reading up and allowed for some minimal experimentation for now.
