Photography thread...

It's a shame the multiple flocks of birds didn't show in the low light...it was so peaceful and beautiful...think I will be walking there daily.

..and this poor swan which was left behind on the ice by it's friends. We watched as it made a haphazard brisk walk across the ice trying to catch up as they headed for water...then did a bellyflop and slid the last metre to the water's edge......

...and then went into overdrive paddling for the length of the canal trying to catch up with the gang.....

OK, well after the despair a few weeks ago of dropping my camera which went everywhere with me (even shopping!!), I bought a Canon Powershot G6 this weekend and despite the difficulties I read about many having taking pics with it, I am rapt with my first efforts. Pity we didn't have more time to play with it this weekend, but this is my favourite of the few I took while on the move. Can't wait to read the manual and start experimenting with all the features etc.:)

Very lovely! What a great specimen of Swan! Did you know that Swans are among the most vicious birds? Little known fact :)

LOL, but the rose is no less beautiful for it's thorns, and often more fragrant are those with the nastiest, most profuse thornery.

:D You keep pulling this thread back... I guess I will have to find some new stuff to post as well.

I have heard a lot of good things about that whole series of cameras. I'd like to hear what you think once you have had time to really play with it. Enjoy!

Peaceful.

I don't know why, but I really like the way this picture turned out. I took it with my digi cam a drive through animal park near San Antonio. There's just something appealing about the angle of the whole image.

The look in the eye draws me into the pic......makes you want to open the back door and invite them home.:)

Funny thing just stands in her cage and stares at me while in this room on the computer.
I'll take her out once in a while and let her play on the computer wall unit.

I've been out playing with the new toy again.....

...still haven't had time to try out all the special features and tricks, but am rapt at what I can do just on a standard setting shot. Took this first one of a seagull from the bigger picture featured. :nana:
