As Laurie drove home, she still couldn’t believe that Keith had given her the software for free. If she could install it once home, she might treat Phil to a mini-strip down to her lingerie.
All of a sudden her thoughts were interrupted by the car behind frequently honking at her. What the…? Laurie glared into the rear view mirror only to see Susan waving at her. Oh for heaven’s sake!
Pulling over to the side of the road, Laurie waited for her friend. “Keith told me that I had just missed you, so I reckoned that you were heading home.”
“Yes, I was. How was it at the dentist?”
“No cavities!”
Laurie studied Susan for a moment. “Okay, what did you really want to talk to me about?”
Sue grinned. “Keith told me that he had given you some software so you could give Phil a fashion show…”
“Poses, Sue; poses.” Laurie was keeping her fib of a story in line with what she told Keith.
“Whatever, anyway he forgot to mention that it contains an option to play barely audible music to give the impression of a studio where soft music is played to lighten up the atmosphere.”
“That’s interesting. I guess I can only play what’s in the software.”
“Afraid so, but as it’s free you can’t expect perfection.”
“Guess so.” Then Laurie looked at her watch. “I need to get going.”
“Not so fast. I think you need a new outfit for your first cam show, and I know the perfect one. Just follow me to this boutique I found.”
Oh great, just great! “I can’t afford a new one right now, and I need to …”
“I’m paying, so you have no excuses.”
Free software and a new outfit courtesy of her friends; what could Laurie do?
“Okay.” Laurie resigned herself to obeying her friend. Just as she was about to pull away, she exclaimed. “Shit! I forgot to ask you. Phil was wondering if you and Keith would like to pose for a car brochure.”
“Oh, that would be great!”
Laurie smiled. “I’ll tell Phil once I’m home.”
The next hour was spent at the boutique. It was another hour before Laurie arrived back home. Thankfully her parents were tending to the back garden, so she quickly went to her room, and began to remove her new outfit from the plastic bags and store them.
It was when she went down to grab a salad that she received a text from Phil. Laurie let out a deep breath, thankful she had remembered to tell Sue about the brochure shoot. ‘I’ve told Sue about it and she was very happy. I just need to get confirmation, but I don’t see a problem.’
